Is the Frozen Pork Belly at Seongsu Worth the Wait? An Honest Review!

Hello, I'm Taetae!
Today, I'm introducing a delicious Samgyeopsal restaurant in Seongsu-dong:
'Jamsugyo House Seongsu Branch'
I stopped by during a weekend date in Seongsu because I wanted to eat something delicious, and I was really satisfied!

Jamsugyo House Seongsu Branch
Location: 1st Floor, 137 Achasan-ro, Seongdong-gu, Seoul
Hours: 11:30 AM - 4:30 AM
Parking: Not available
Restroom: Shared restroom up half a flight of stairs in the building
This is the entrance with the green sign and waiting area.

I visited around 7 PM on a Sunday evening, and as expected for a weekend, there was a wait.
Here's the waiting area and the waiting list.
The waiting list is handwritten, and there's a space to wait, so the wait didn't feel too long.

A spacious hall filled with customers.
The restaurant is quite spacious and neatly organized. However, it's always packed, so waiting is almost essential.

Each table is covered with vinyl, so it's hygienically managed. It's mostly tables for four, making it great for group gatherings!

Main meat dishes and neat side dishes.
The main menu consists of Minari (water dropwort) Fresh Samgyeopsal and Frozen Samgyeopsal.
Sides include Country-style Cheonggukjang (fermented soybean stew), Spicy Beji Jjigae (soybean curd stew), and fried rice.

I remember eating soybean paste stew when I came before, but I guess my memory was wrong haha.
Today's Order
4 servings of Frozen Samgyeopsal (₩64,000)
Small Minari, Gosari (fernbrake), and Kkwari peppers (₩5,000)
2 bottles of Soju (Sae Ro)
1 bottle of Beer (Terra)
A table set with various side dishes, meat, and a barley tea bottle.

The side dishes and basic water.
The side dish selection is excellent: shredded scallions, kimchi, rolled omelet, white kimchi, and chives are all neatly arranged.

The basic water is served as cool barley tea in an old Del Monte bottle.

Golden-brown Frozen Samgyeopsal
3 servings of Frozen Samgyeopsal (₩42,000)
At first, the staff puts the meat on the grill for you. They'll ask, "Would you like garlic and kimchi too?" Just say yes!

While you're waiting, everyone enjoy a Somaek (Soju and Beer)!

A plate grilled to golden perfection.
The meat is finally grilling nicely! Frozen Samgyeopsal is basically thinly sliced pork belly.

Also, be sure to grill the rolled omelet together! It becomes even more delicious when it's golden brown!!

Savory Egg Yolk Dip
The cooked meat can be eaten in various ways. It comes with an egg yolk dip, which gives the meat a savory flavor similar to Sukiyaki.

Fragrant Perilla Leaves and Seasoned Radish
Also, my favorite way to eat it is wrapped in perilla leaves with seasoned radish. The combination of freshness and savory meat is perfect.

A plate of fresh Minari, Gosari, and Kkwari Peppers.
Small Minari, Gosari, and Kkwari Peppers (₩5,000)

We ate 3 servings and were still hungry, so we ordered a small portion of Minari, Gosari, and Kkwari peppers and one more serving of Frozen Samgyeopsal.

Even though it's a small set of Minari, the portion is quite generous and fresh, right?

Especially when the Minari is lightly grilled with the Samgyeopsal, its fragrance is doubled, creating a fantastic combination with the meat.

I enjoyed the meal today as well.
Jamsugyo House Seongsu Branch

Today was my second visit to Jamsugyo House Seongsu Branch.
The meat quality, side dishes, and service were all excellent.
I highly recommend trying the combination of Frozen Samgyeopsal and Minari!
Jamsugyo House Seongsu Branch was well worth the wait!
