Hamo Ribs, Korean BBQ in Seogwipo New Town

Location: 64 Sinseogwi-ro 97beon-gil, Seogwipo-si (Gangjeong-dong 172-1)

Hours: Daily 11:50 AM - 11:30 PM

Parking and valet parking available

Day 3 of our Jeju trip.

We visited our favorite Seogwipo New Town, parked, and walked through the restaurant alley starting from the World Cup Stadium.

We weren't planning to have dinner, but we got hungry while walking, so we decided to eat before it got too late. We chose 'Hamo Ribs'.

I really like short ribs and my husband knew this place was a local favorite, so we chose this restaurant from the restaurant street.

Even though it was almost 8 PM, the restaurant was packed.

Of course, there was a wait.

Luckily, no one was in front of us!

I think we waited for about 10 minutes before entering.

Inside

Note that the interior isn't very spacious, so it can be a little chaotic.

Menu and Order

We ordered 1 serving of (raw) short ribs,

2 servings of (marinated) short ribs,

Rice ball Yukhoe (raw beef), vegetable bibimbap, and doenjang jjigae (soybean paste stew).

The side dishes were simple.

The taste was... okay!

The seasoning wasn't really to my taste.

Rice ball Yukhoe and Vegetable Bibimbap

As the price suggests, the rice ball yukhoe was made with thawed frozen beef.

The vegetable bibimbap was rice with shredded lettuce and perilla leaves topped with gochujang (red pepper paste).

We were both a little disappointed, but the prices are cheap!

I ate a little bit of the yukhoe and mixed it with the vegetable bibimbap :)

However, I recommend just ordering the Yukhoe Bibimbap!

The Doenjang Jjigae with meat

It was delicious, but a little too salty!

It would have been much better if it was less salty :)

I really like eating grilled meat over charcoal.

The garlic on top of the marinated short ribs is the key!!!

Precious Memory

I don't recommend the raw short ribs ㅠ.ㅠ

Because the marinated ones are so much more delicious in comparison,

Just go all-in on the marinated ones!

Interesting Image

They told us to put the garlic separately on foil and grill it,

And this garlic was so, so good!

Hopeful Tomorrow

Highly recommend the marinated!

I tried it in various ways, but onion and green onion salad are eliminated.

1st place: Eating it with marinated garlic

2nd place: With my beloved Cheongyang chili peppers

hehehehe

And a unique charming point of this place?

After finishing your meal, you can choose one ice cream per person to eat.

The options were:

We shared a ~ :)

I was so happy to eat something sweet after a meal for the first time in a while.

At Hamo Ribs, you must eat the marinated short ribs!!!!!
