Haemilga Jonggak: A Korean Culinary Gem in the Heart of Seoul

Sometimes, you just have to share a truly delicious find! Today, that's Haemilga Jonggak, a restaurant I discovered near Jonggak Station. Though recently opened, it has quickly become a popular dining spot for office workers in the area. The bustling atmosphere during lunchtime is a testament to its popularity, but thankfully, the spacious interior means you can usually find a seat quickly without a long wait. If you're looking for authentic Korean cuisine in Jonggak, I highly recommend Haemilga!

The menu is diverse and appealing, guaranteeing satisfaction no matter what you choose. The Dakdoritang (braised spicy chicken stew), Buchu Dolpan Dak Suyuk (boiled chicken slices with garlic chives served on a hot stone plate), and Sundsal Gamjatang (pork rib potato stew) all perfectly showcase the essence of Korean cuisine. The Pakimchi Spicy Eel Hot Pot (Kimchi with green onion and eel hot pot), especially enjoyable with an evening drink, seemed to wash away the day's fatigue. With its easy accessibility and spaciousness, this place is also perfectly optimized for company dinners or large gatherings.

Haemilga boasts a clean and sophisticated interior, offering a different charm for both lunch and dinner. At lunchtime, the quick service keeps the local workers returning, while in the evening, it's a great place to unwind with a drink. The view from the second floor is especially lovely and makes you feel good. This time, I ordered the Boneless Chamnamul Gamjatang (pork rib potato stew with Korean parsley) and Samgyup Dubu Samhap (pork belly, tofu, and kimchi platter), and I was amazed by the taste.

On my visit to Haemilga Jonggak, I enjoyed Sundsal Gamjatang with Kkomak Buchujeon (Cockle and chives pancake), accompanied by two bottles of soju. The broth was rich and flavorful, the meat was tender, and the Kkomak Buchujeon was crispy and savory. Its proximity to Cheonggyecheon Stream makes it a great date spot. We had a wonderful time, filled with natural conversation and smiles.

The restaurant's interior features spacious seating arrangements, providing comfort and relaxation no matter where you sit. It's a place that I think is suitable for dates, company dinners, and casual meals alike. It is a great place to enjoy warm Korean food and makgeolli (Korean rice wine) for dinner. Because you can enjoy a delicious meal quickly even at lunch, I would like to recommend visiting anytime! That's all for this restaurant review. I'll be back with more great news next time.
