Located just a 5-minute drive from Jeju Airport, Goguksu is one of Jeju's top 3 pork noodle restaurants, making it a perfect spot for your first or last meal on the island.
2. A Popular Spot!
As soon as I stepped inside, I noticed the well-organized interior. The walls were covered with numerous TV appearances! I realized that popular places are popular for a reason.
3. Great Atmosphere!
The garden view is absolutely stunning. As soon as I entered the restaurant, the beautiful garden scenery was so calming. The stone statues and pond created a unique atmosphere.
4. Convenient Self-Service Corner
While getting what I needed from the self-service corner, I noticed that hair ties were also provided, which was a thoughtful touch. Basic side dishes, cutlery, individual plates, and aprons were available.
Seeing the signs on the wall made me excited. Famous celebrities like Lee Dong-gook, Sunmi, and Kim Jun-hyun had visited! Knowing that I was in a place that celebrities had visited made my trip feel even more real, and I felt proud of my choice.
I sat by the window, enjoying the scenery while I ate. The view was amazing. Adding black pork rice soup and gondre dumplings to the set menu made it a complete and satisfying meal. The basic side dishes included pickled lettuce stems, kimchi, and white kimchi, all neatly prepared. The seasonings weren't too strong, so they complemented the main dishes perfectly and stimulated my appetite.
Goguksu's hairtail fish noodles are a must-try breakfast item in Jeju. It's definitely one of their signature dishes.
Perilla leaf, hairtail, and pumpkin tempura were served! They taste great on their own, but when eaten with the noodles, they're even better.
The combination of noodles and tempura is always a winner. The savory tempura coating and hot soup were a perfect match.
The dough was chewy, and the ingredients were tender and flavorful. I could call this Gondre Samhap. Once I tasted it, I couldn't stop eating.
The dumplings weren't greasy and had a savory flavor, so I could eat them without feeling heavy.
The dombe pork and various toppings are placed on top of the noodles, and when all these ingredients are mixed with the soup, the flavors blend perfectly! If you visit Jeju Island, you must try this.
The toppings and pork were nicely plated, which was satisfying even before I started eating.
Eating meat and noodles together is a perfect combination! The chewy and clean taste seemed to dance in my mouth.
The black pork rice soup looked delicious from the start. When I took my first spoonful, I felt that it was a special and hearty soup that I could only experience here in Jeju.
Taking a spoonful of the steaming black pork rice soup, the clean and savory taste spread throughout my mouth and went down smoothly.
Look at the size of the octopus fritters at Goguksu! Just looking at them made me excited to try them.
Eating only fried food can be a bit greasy, but the salad balanced the flavors perfectly.
The outside was crispy, and the inside was tender, creating a good balance of textures. The tempura is served in large pieces and needs to be cut with scissors.
When I peeled off the batter, I saw the white octopus meat inside. The inside was tender and chewy, which showed how fresh the ingredients were.
The Dombe Pork & Seasoned Octopus Set is something you'll understand as soon as you taste it! The refreshing taste of the seasoned octopus and the savory taste of the dombe pork created the best harmony.
The seasoned octopus, with finely chopped perilla leaves, had a fragrant aroma and the spicy taste of onions, making it a dish I wanted to keep eating.
The dombe pork itself was delicious, but the green onions on top enhanced the flavor, making it even cleaner and more flavorful.
5. Final Review
I loved that I could eat fresh and diverse food at such an affordable price. I was so satisfied that I definitely want to come back next time. It's a great place for families, couples, and people of all ages.
