Fournil: A Must-Visit Egg Tart Spot in Mapo, Seoul
If you're looking for delicious egg tarts in the Mapo area, look no further than Fournil, a bakery café frequently mentioned as a top spot near Sinchon Station.
Located at 41-3 Gwangseong-ro, 1st Floor, C-Dong, Mapo-gu, Seoul, Fournil is easily accessible from four nearby subway stations:
- About a 5-minute walk from Daehyeong Station (Exit 4)
- About a 3-minute walk from Sogang University Station (Exit 1)
- About an 8-minute walk from Sinchon Station (Exit 6)
- About a 10-minute walk from Gwangheungchang Station (Exit 4)
For those driving, there is a public parking lot right in front of the store, making it relatively easy to park, which is a rarity in the Daehyeong area.
The interior of Fournil is clean and stylish, with a warm atmosphere created by wooden tones and calming colors, making it a great spot for taking photos.
Upon entering, you are greeted by a view of delicious baked goods. Many customers passing by are tempted to come in after seeing the treats through the window.

Be aware that if you visit late, many items may be sold out. However, if you ask, they might bring out more from the back!
The standout item was undoubtedly the egg tart. Its crispy exterior contrasted perfectly with the soft and moist custard inside. The sweetness was just right, making it a perfect pairing with coffee.
During my visit, I even saw another customer buy over ten egg tarts at once, which speaks volumes about their popularity.
The staff packaged the tarts beautifully, making them great for gifts. If you're looking for a thoughtful gift or a simple treat, I highly recommend Fournil's egg tarts.
I also tried their signature Matte Latte, ordered unsweetened, and it was delicious!
Interestingly, Fournil accepts Onnuri gift certificates, which is quite rare for coffee shops, making it a wonderful option for those nearby.
As the weather gets colder, I plan to return to try their pumpkin spice latte, which is no longer available at Starbucks.
