Dugeunban Sangdong: Juicy Short Ribs and Must-Try Bibim Naengmyeon in Bucheon!

Even if you're a short rib lover, you probably mostly eat the kind that's sliced long and thin. But I'm here to introduce a place where the owner is truly passionate about meat, gives you more than the standard amount, and even shares tips on how to enjoy juicy short rib meat.
Located near Sangdong Station and Sangdong Lake Park, Dugeunban Sangdong is a restaurant where the short rib meat is bursting with juice, and I highly recommend their bibim naengmyeon (spicy cold noodles)!
Dugeunban Sangdong
Address: 7-16, Jomaru-ro 85beon-gil, Wonmi-gu, Bucheon-si, Gyeonggi-do
Hours: Daily 11:30 AM - 10:00 PM
Parking: 2-3 spots in front of the restaurant / Sang2-dong Community Service Center Public Parking Lot (1,300 won per hour)
Minimum order of 2 servings for some menu items.
They told me you can only order in portions of two when you first order. I ate one serving at a time so I could try different things, but personally, I really recommend ordering two servings of the short rib meat! LOL.
Spacious and pleasant restaurant, perfect for company dinners.
It was late in the evening and a weekday, so there were a lot of couples, but this place is spacious and has parking in front, making it ideal for company dinners. LOL.
There is a well-stocked self-serve bar, and even though lettuce isn't part of the basic table setting, it's separately packaged and prepared, so you can ask for it.
You can feel that they are a popular restaurant from the side dishes
Wow, miso cabbage soup?? It's originally one of the foods I don't like, but this one tasted like my mom had simmered it for 2-3 days, with all the vegetable broth infused and the deep flavor at its peak. LOL. I wasn't going to order rice, but I ordered it right after eating this. LOL.
Here, you can keep eating bean sprouts and chives. The bean sprouts are lightly seasoned compared to the soup or bibim naengmyeon, so the phrase 'rice thief' is perfect for how much you'll keep reaching for them.
More than anything, you can tell the owner is passionate about food because they serve kimchi that's been stir-fried in oil, since it's hard to grill kimchi on the grill used for pork belly. LOL.
Menu
- Short Rib Meat: ₩23,000
- Pre-cooked Pork Belly: ₩15,000
- Marinated Short Rib Meat (Outside Skirt): ₩20,000
The fire was strong from beginning to end, and the grill didn't stick, so it was easy to cook. LOL.
Short Rib Meat tastes best when cut thick.
Have you ever eaten short rib meat cut thinly? Have you ever tried eating it cut into thick chunks? When you eat it like this, the inside is really full of juice, and the meat flavor is so strong that you might mistake it for Korean beef even though it's not.
Since it's pre-cooked pork belly, there's no smoke.
The pork belly comes pre-cooked, and the owner surprised me by asking if it wasn't unusual that there wasn't any smoke coming from the meat while grilling. LOL.
Normally, when you eat pork belly, smoke rises like crazy and flames come up, but since it was pre-cooked, it was so easy to eat.
Be sure to order the bibim naengmyeon!
It's delicious when eaten with marinated outside skirt.
I heard that the marinated outside skirt tastes good when dipped in onion slices in soy sauce. I thought the soy sauce would overpower the taste, but it was a really harmonious combination. Salty and savory?? LOL.
Personally... it's a meat restaurant, but the bibim naengmyeon was the most delicious thing I ate!
It was so delicious that I asked for the bibim naengmyeon recipe. TT. It was so good, they could open a noodle chain. I'd want to go back just to eat that.
I recommend this place because the owner is passionate about the food and friendly, and regular customers keep coming back.
