Don-Su-Baek Hongdae Branch Review – A Hongdae Restaurant Recommendation!

Hello! Today, I'm sharing my review of Don-Su-Baek Hongdae branch, which I visited with my girlfriend.
Hongdae has many restaurants, but this place, famous for its *gukbap* (Korean rice soup), was perfect for us since we both love it.
Location & Atmosphere
The restaurant, Don-Su-Baek Hongdae Branch, is easily accessible near Hongdae Station.
The exterior sign was clean, and as soon as we entered, we felt the cozy atmosphere unique to *gukbap* restaurants.
The staircase leading to the second floor was well-maintained, and the interior was pleasant. I would describe the cleanliness as amazing!
The restroom area was also well-maintained, so we were satisfied with the hygiene.
At the self-service corner, kimchi and *kkakdugi* (radish kimchi) were prepared, and just looking at them, I thought, "They'll be a perfect match for *gukbap*!"
Convenient Ordering with Kiosk
As soon as we entered the restaurant, the menu kiosk caught our eye.
While it's common in most restaurants these days, Don-Su-Baek Hongdae Main Branch had a well-organized and intuitive menu,
so even as first-time visitors, we could immediately find the menu we wanted.
In particular, the signature menu, **Don-Tang-Ban (₩9,000)**, was at the very front, so we didn't have to hesitate, and we could also check the side menus and drinks.
I also filmed the kiosk screen for my blog review, and I think it will be really helpful to refer to it before visiting, as the menu composition is shown at a glance.
My girlfriend was also satisfied, saying, "It's easier and faster than I thought!"
Our Order – 2 Don-Tang-Ban (₩9,000 x 2)
We ordered two Don-Tang-Ban, the signature menu.
The broth came out first, and from the first impression, the rich and deep color caught my eye.
As soon as I took a spoonful, the savory and clean broth flavor spread quickly.
And the amount of meat is quite generous.
It maintained the heaviness unique to *gukbap*, but we could enjoy it with a clean and savory taste without any unpleasant smell.
Adding the *somyeon* (thin noodles) and *buchu* (garlic chives) that came with it made the broth taste even better, and it was a hearty meal.
Side Dishes – Kimchi & Kkakdugi
The kimchi and *kkakdugi* that we brought from the self-service corner also went really well with the *gukbap*.
The kimchi was crunchy and slightly spicy, and the *kkakdugi* had a refreshing sweetness that further enhanced the broth flavor.
A bite of *gukbap* and a bite of *kkakdugi* is definitely the classic combination at a *gukbap* restaurant!
Overall
If you're looking for a hearty meal in Hongdae, I highly recommend Don-Su-Baek Hongdae Main Branch.
The broth is rich and clean, and it's cost-effective with plenty of meat.
With a clean restaurant environment and self-service kimchi and *kkakdugi*, it was a place that came to mind when I thought of Hongdae *gukbap*.
For those who want to have a light meal in Hongdae,
I can confidently say that it's a really good choice for a Hongdae restaurant!
