Recently, I went on a trip to Tongyeong with my friends and discovered some amazing restaurants. I'm excited to share my experiences with you!

Touching scene

1. Hansan Battle Honey Bread

Walnut Mochi Bread (4 pieces): ₩10,000

Address: 1st floor, 343 Tongyeonghaean-ro, Tongyeong-si, Gyeongsangnam-do

Hours: Daily 09:00 - 18:00

Hansan Battle Honey Bread was just a 4-minute walk from the Central Traditional Market public parking lot. It's right in front of the Central Market bus stop, and the large sign made it easy to spot.

They're open from 9 AM to 6 PM every day. However, they close early when ingredients run out, so I made sure to stop by before heading to the Central Market.

Parking is available in the alleyways, but I recommend parking in the Central Traditional Market public parking lot because they provide parking discount tickets. It's only a 4-minute walk from there.

As I approached the honey bread shop, the savory and sweet aroma made my mouth water. They make traditional honey bread and their special walnut mochi bread on the spot, which made me want to try them right away.

I decided to get both, so I bought a honey bread set and walnut mochi bread. The packaging was neat and pretty, which I really liked.

I've had honey bread before, but I was curious about the walnut mochi bread, which is unique to this place. It's a gluten-free bread with no flour, so I was even more excited. It was bigger than I expected, so I cut it in half.

It was filled with chewy mochi, red bean, and walnuts, and the savory aroma made my eyes widen.

I took a bite right away, and it was incredibly savory and mild, probably because it's made with almond flour. The walnuts and sweet mochi were a great combination, and I understood why it's so popular in Tongyeong these days.

The honey bread was also delicious, with plenty of filling inside. It was packed full, but it wasn't too sweet, so I knew it was a healthy, low-sugar honey bread.

I also tried the cream cheese honey bread. The sweet and savory cream cheese had a rich flavor that went well with coffee. The owner said that they always make it with passion and integrity, and I could feel that in the taste. They don't skimp on ingredients and care about making it good for you, which makes it perfect as a gift.

I ended up visiting again the next day to buy more honey bread and walnut mochi bread to take home. They were sprinkling sesame seeds on the freshly made, warm honey bread, and I wanted to eat one right then and there.

I bought a lot, but the price was reasonable, which made me happy. The packaging is also neat, so I can see why it's popular as a souvenir and gift from Tongyeong.

Apparently, it was also featured on the famous TV show "Vivid Information." With over 40 years of experience, it's a place that not only tourists but also locals visit.

I used to only buy honey bread when I visited Tongyeong, but now I think I'll look for walnut mochi bread first. The savory and sweet taste was so addictive that I kept thinking about it.

They also offer nationwide delivery and accept Tongyeong Tour Passes, which is great. It's a honey bread restaurant that appeals to everyone, so I'll be visiting often.

2. Dongpirang Abalone Village

Abalone Stone Pot Rice Set: ₩17,000

Address: 2nd floor, 29 Haesongjeong 2-gil, Tongyeong-si, Gyeongsangnam-do (Inside Daepoonggwan)

Hours: 09:00 - 21:00

I visited a Korean restaurant near Tongyeong Central Market for breakfast. I ordered and enjoyed the abalone stone pot rice set. The table setting was generous compared to the price, and everything tasted great, so I was satisfied.

3. Haenyeo Seafood Dachi

Lunch Dachi (per person): ₩45,000

Address: 25-50 Hangnam 2-gil, Tongyeong-si, Gyeongsangnam-do

Hours: 12:00 - 22:30

This seafood restaurant became famous after being featured on Battle Trip. There was only one menu item, Dachi, and at first, I thought the price was a bit high. However, I was satisfied with the value for money after seeing the lavish table setting.

4. Daepoonggwan

Set A Cuisine: ₩30,000

Address: 29 Haesongjeong 2-gil, Tongyeong-si, Tongyeong

Hours: 10:00 - 21:00

Next is Daepoonggwan, a Tongyeong oyster restaurant that is famous among locals. The advantage is that you can order according to your taste thanks to the various dishes made with carefully selected oysters by the owner, and you can enjoy it at a reasonable price with good quality for the price.

5. Shimgane Seafood Jjamppong

Shimgane Seafood Special Jjamppong: ₩33,000

Address: 74-4 Saeteo-gil, Tongyeong-si, Gyeongsangnam-do

Hours: 10:00 - 20:00

I had a light meal at a Chinese restaurant near Tongyeong Port. I visited because the price of jajangmyeon is famous for being cheap, and I became addicted to the spiciness of the jjamppong. It was also fun to eat because it was full of abalone and scallops.
