Discovering Sanseongmiga: A Culinary Gem Near Namhansanseong Fortress

I'd like to introduce a fantastic restaurant I often visit when I go to Namhansanseong Fortress.
It's called Sanseongmiga.
Parking: 50% parking fee support at the public parking lot near the restaurant.
Hours: 10:00 - 21:00 (Break time: 15:00 - 16:00)
As you step into the beautifully built traditional Korean house, you'll be greeted by a bright and cozy interior, and the natural scenery reflected through the large windows.
I took a seat and ordered the Royal Galbi Rice Noodles (Wang Galbi Kalguksu), Summer Rice Noodles, and Lotus Root Shrimp Fritters (Yeongeun Saeu Twigim), all while enjoying the outside view.
First, pickled onions and radishes were served as side dishes. I also got a complimentary acorn jelly salad, which was an explosion of savory flavor! (You can get a mini acorn jelly salad if you apply for the review service.)
I had only tried the Korean Beef Brisket Rice Noodles (Hanwoo Yangji Kalguksu) before, but this time I ordered the newly added Royal Galbi Rice Noodles.
The combination of tender short rib meat and rich brisket broth was excellent. I was curious about the cold Korean Beef Rice Noodles, so I ordered the Summer Rice Noodles. Eating the noodles with the cool brisket broth and toppings like meat and cucumber was incredibly refreshing and beat the summer heat.
And if you go to Sanseongmiga, you absolutely must try the Lotus Root Shrimp Fritters.
I don't particularly like lotus root, but when it's fried with plump shrimp, it's so delicious. I secretly ordered another plate after eating the first four pieces...
After a hearty meal, I took a peek at the detached building in the yard as I was leaving.
It was even cozier and offered views of the natural landscape, which was another charm. There are also large tables, making it great for family gatherings or meetings with friends. :)
To burn off the full feeling, I took a quick hike on the Namhansanseong Fortress trail!
It was humid, so I worked up a sweat, but the moment I reached the top, the high, clear sky and surrounding scenery made my heart soar.
Good digestion and a great view – a win-win!
I highly recommend visiting Namhansanseong to enjoy the cool, clear weather, stunning scenery, and delicious rice noodles.
