Jongno Chicken Noodle Soup
Hanmin Guk Dak Hanmari
Hello, I'm Yukchubi!
I recently visited Hanmin Guk Dak Hanmari, a hidden gem located in an alley between Jongno 5-ga Station and Dongdaemun Station.
This place is known for its hearty chicken hot pot (Dak Hanmari), perfect to enjoy with drinks. It's already a well-known local favorite in the Jongno and Dongdaemun area.
Let's start the review!

It's about a 7-8 minute walk from either Jongno 5-ga Station (Exit 3) or Dongdaemun Station (Exit 9).
Walking along the main road between the two stations, you'll find the 'Hanmin Guk Dak Hanmari' sign in an alleyway about halfway down.
Turn right at the Ssanghwa tea cafe, and you'll see it. The fun of finding it yourself adds to the feeling of exploring a 'true 맛집' (delicious restaurant).
The interior is cozy and clean, and the tables are spaced generously, making it comfortable for gatherings, dates, or company dinners.
I highly recommend this place as a great value restaurant because of the quality and quantity of food provided compared to the price!
(There are seats on the 2nd floor too! Still a Jongno Chicken Noodle Soup 맛집.)
I tried making the Dak Hanmari sauce following their instructions.
What stood out most was the generosity of the service menu. They provide vegetable pancakes, meat dumplings, fish cakes, abalone, and even ginseng, which are hard to find at other restaurants.
They even give you ice cream after your meal to cleanse your palate.
It's not just about filling your stomach but also about the feeling of being well taken care of.
The main dish, Dak Hanmari, features tender and clean chicken without any unpleasant smell, and the broth has a deep and rich flavor from the chicken and medicinal herbs.
The chicken is large and tender, with no unpleasant smell.
The broth is a deep and rich flavor of chicken, ginseng, and various medicinal herbs. Keep sipping, and you'll naturally say, 'This is health food.'
They cut the chicken for you when it's cooked, and it's fun to eat the meat with potatoes, scallions, and ginseng.
Ginseng and vegetable pancakes as service…
This place is truly the king of service.
The rice cakes are soft and chewy, and the abalone was plump and delicious!
Even dessert ice cream!
They even give you a mask pack, a Choco Pie & Yakult as you leave. This place is really the best!
Hanmin Guk Dak Hanmari has it all: taste, service, atmosphere, and value.
I highly recommend it to those who want to enjoy both the deep flavor of Dak Hanmari and the generous service menu!
