I kept seeing posts about a popular restaurant in Yeondong, Jeju on my social media feed, so I asked my companions what they thought about it.
Just looking at the photos made my mouth water.
Without hesitation, I made a reservation and we set off.
1. HwaHa Restaurant

Upon arrival, the exterior caught my eye immediately.
The clean design without large glass windows felt quite sophisticated.
A lunch special banner was prominently displayed at the entrance, which made choosing a menu easier.
As I entered, the interior gave off a well-maintained vibe, making me hopeful for a great meal.
They were even having a coffee event for their grand opening, so we could enjoy coffee after our meal.
An Americano was just 3,500 won, which was very reasonable.
Inside, there was a coffee machine, which was a pleasant surprise for a Chinese restaurant.
When I ordered, they prepared the coffee right in front of me, filling the air with the aroma of freshly brewed coffee!
They also had a private room available, perfect for gatherings.
A side dish corner featured neatly arranged kimchi and pickles.
The menu was impressive, and I chose some of the popular dishes.
The sweet and sour pork caught my attention immediately with its golden, crispy coating.
The shrimp dumplings arrived steaming, with incredibly thin skins that made my mouth water.
Three side dishes were served, and the pickles looked particularly delicious.
The Dongpo pork was glossy and looked mouth-watering, wrapped in a rich brown sauce.
The mapo tofu had a fragrant spiciness, with minced meat packed between the tofu.
Once the table was set, it looked quite abundant, truly a feast.
I cut the Dongpo pork with scissors, and it sliced effortlessly, cooked to perfection.
Taking a bite of the shrimp dumpling released a burst of flavor, and the plump shrimp made it delightful.
I tried the sea urchin dumpling whole, and there was no fishy taste at all, which I loved.
Mixing the Dongpo pork with the sauce deepened its color and flavor.
The colors of the tomato and egg stir-fry were so appealing, making it visually delightful.
A spoonful revealed the refreshing taste of tomato, perfectly balanced with the softness of the eggs.
The Dongpo pork melted in my mouth, not greasy but savory and clean.
The mapo tofu brought a delightful spiciness that paired perfectly with rice, making it a must-have.
A glass of beer completed the perfect meal, and my companions suggested we return here soon.
