Ikseon Yorok, a popular restaurant in Ikseon-dong and Seosulla-gil, is located in the alleyways of Ikseon-dong. Unfortunately, there is no parking available at the restaurant, so you'll need to use the nearby public parking lots mentioned above.
The alley is filled with popular spots like salt bread bakeries and famous hanok (traditional Korean house) cafes, so it's always bustling with people. The visuals of Yorok's Gopchang (intestine) Rice Bowl and Yorok's Galbisal (short rib) Rice Bowl immediately caught my attention. One of the best things about Ikseon Yorok is that they don't have a break time! Most restaurants in the area have a break, but Ikseon Yorok is open all day, so you can visit anytime!

The interior of Ikseon Yorok is decorated in a typically beautiful hanok style. The ceiling is enclosed, and the air conditioning is powerful, making it a refreshing escape on a hot day.

Main Menu (Based on Naver Place):
Ikseon Yorok's Signature Dishes:
Yorok Gopchang Rice Bowl: Rice bowl topped with plenty of tender, specially seasoned small intestines - ₩19,800
Yorok Galbisal Rice Bowl: Rice bowl with chewy and savory short rib meat - ₩21,800
Small Intestine Hot Pot: Spicy and rich small intestine hot pot - ₩34,000
Yorok Chicken Rice: Yorok-style chicken rice made with the best, most tender and savory parts of the chicken - ₩14,800
Yorok Spicy Pork BBQ: Spicy pork BBQ with a smoky flavor from a special sauce - ₩13,800
Yorok Bibim Guksu (Spicy Mixed Noodles): Yorok's bibim guksu with a special sauce that boasts a sweet and sour taste - ₩11,800
Budae Jjigae (Army Stew): Yorok's budae jjigae, filled with salty and savory sausages and ham - ₩26,000
Taste and Portion Size (Highly Subjective):

At Ikseon Yorok, we ordered one Yorok Gopchang Rice Bowl (₩19,800), one Yorok Bibim Guksu (₩11,800), and one Yorok Special Fried Chicken (₩11,800).
The total came out to ₩43,400.
Considering current prices, it didn't feel too expensive, and overall, the portions were generous! The fried chicken portion might seem a bit small, but each piece is quite large, about 2-3 times the size of a regular chicken nugget.
First, here's a photo of the Yorok Gopchang Rice Bowl.
It was more sweet and savory with a strong soy sauce base rather than spicy. It felt like a fusion of Korean and Japanese cuisine. It was easy to eat. We ordered the M size, and the L size is about 1.3 servings and costs ₩21,800. Just a heads up!

Next up is the Bibim Guksu, which is perfect for a hot day!
Honestly, it was so hot that I couldn't resist ordering the Bibim Guksu.
The taste wasn't spicy at all, so it's perfect for foreigners visiting Ikseon-dong and Jongno. Since it's not spicy, you can order it without hesitation. It was definitely a dish worthy of Ikseon Yorok, a popular restaurant in Seosulla-gil and Ikseon-dong!
Lastly, the Yorok Special Fried Chicken! It's best described as boneless fried chicken with a sweet and savory glaze.
It was especially delicious because it was freshly fried right in the restaurant!
The seasoning was great, and the frying was perfect. Good, good!
They gave us a mayonnaise-based sauce, which surprisingly went really well with the fried chicken.
Eating it with the Bibim Guksu was heavenly!

In Conclusion:
Recently, Jongno, Seosulla-gil, and Ikseon-dong have been featured on TV a lot, making them incredibly popular. Whether you're a foreign tourist or a local, I think you'll be very satisfied with a visit to Ikseon Yorok.
The flavors weren't too strong, and the prices were reasonable considering the location and current inflation.
If you're planning a date or gathering in Ikseon-dong, Seosulla-gil, or Jongno, visit Ikseon Yorok and enjoy delicious food in a cool, air-conditioned space!
This concludes my honest review of Ikseon Yorok in Seosulla-gil and Ikseon-dong!
Thank you.
