Discovering a Hidden Gem Near Gosu Cave: Geumsugangsan Restaurant

Hello, I'm TaeTaeMom.
One of the must-visit attractions in Danyang is Gosu Cave.
During our recent trip to Danyang, we explored the cave with the kids, and I was surprised by how much energy it took to walk inside.
While pondering what to have for lunch, I suddenly craved Sanchae Bibimbap.
While looking around the restaurant area near Gosu Cave, we stumbled upon a place called Geumsugangsan.
To my surprise, this place turned out to be a true hidden gem!
Even though I usually don’t like Tteokgalbi, I was blown away by their Garlic Tteokgalbi set meal.
Today, I want to share my experience at this gem of a restaurant discovered during our Danyang trip.
Location: It's easy to find as it's right at the entrance of Gosu Cave.
Geumsugangsan is conveniently located near the entrance of Gosu Cave, making it a perfect stop after exploring the cave.
It's a large building, easily noticeable from a distance.
The restaurant's exterior is impressive, and upon entering, I was amazed by the spacious interior.
The generous spacing between tables and availability of group seating make it suitable for:
- Family trips
- Group tours
- Dining with parents
- Couple dates
The side dishes served felt very thoughtful and well-prepared.
One standout was the Acorn Jelly Salad!
You must try it! The chewy acorn jelly paired with a tangy-sweet dressing really whetted my appetite.
Before the main dishes arrived, I could have eaten a whole bowl of rice just with the Acorn Jelly Salad.
As for the Sanchae Bibimbap, it was filled with various delicious wild greens.
The fresh aroma of mountain herbs and sesame oil was mouthwatering.
Once mixed and tasted, it was like a burst of nature in my mouth.
The flavors were not overwhelming, allowing the natural taste of the ingredients to shine through.
My parents, who traveled with us, also enjoyed it immensely.
When in Danyang, a healthy meal like this is a must!
Now, about the Garlic Tteokgalbi set meal.
I typically don’t like Tteokgalbi, but I ordered it for the kids.
However, after tasting a piece, I was shocked!
“Wow, why is this so good?” I exclaimed.
The Tteokgalbi was juicy, tender, and moist, melting in my mouth.
The subtle garlic flavor enhanced the meat's savoriness.
Even my kids loved it, and I ended up eating more than they did!
This restaurant is indeed worthy of its reputation as a top spot for Garlic Tteokgalbi.
Overall, our visit was enjoyable as it was family-friendly.
The Tteokgalbi was soft and not overly seasoned, making it suitable for kids, while the Sanchae Bibimbap was a healthy choice for adults.
In conclusion, if you're near Gosu Cave, Geumsugangsan is a restaurant you shouldn't miss. We entered without expectations and left completely satisfied. I would definitely visit again if I return to Danyang.
