When I need a health boost, I think of my hidden gem near Sanbangsan. Let me recommend some restaurants around Sanbangsan, especially close to Shinhwa World.

From freshly made side dishes to the abundant abalone dolsotbap, and the spicy and tangy abalone mulhoe, I was thoroughly satisfied with my experience at this restaurant near Shinhwa World.

Address: 207, Sagye-ro, Andeok-myeon, Seogwipo, Jeju

Operating Hours: Daily 08:00 - 20:00 (Break Time 16:00 - 17:00 / Last Order 19:00) / Closed on the second Wednesday of every month

1. Location of the Restaurant Near Sanbangsan

The restaurant Sagye Abalone, located near Sanbangsan, is famous for its fresh abalone. It's about a 3-minute drive from Sanbangsan and around 6 minutes from Sagye Coast, making it a convenient stop during your travels.

Parking is available for free in front and beside the restaurant, and it opens at 8 AM, allowing early birds to enjoy breakfast specials.

The interior is quite spacious, with a view of Sanbangsan through large windows. It accommodates groups and families well.

The menu offers a variety of individual dishes and courses, making it easy to order. Opting for a course or set menu allows you to enjoy multiple dishes at a great value.

2. Homemade Style Side Dishes

We ordered the B course for two along with the abalone mulhoe. The meal included abalone dolsotbap, seafood stew, grilled mackerel, and grilled abalone, providing a hearty feast.

The stir-fried fish cake was the first dish to catch my attention, boasting a delightful flavor from being stir-fried with soy sauce. Its chewy texture and well-seasoned taste made it a perfect side dish.

The perfectly aged napa cabbage kimchi had a refreshing aftertaste and crunchy texture, harmonizing well with the clean and mildly spicy dolsotbap.

The golden-brown kimchi pancake was crispy on the outside and moist on the inside, making it an irresistible treat before the main meal.

The sweet and crunchy diced radish was a great palate cleanser, complementing the seafood stew or the scorched rice soup perfectly.

Overall, all the side dishes were homemade, offering a comforting home-cooked taste, and refills were readily available, explaining why this restaurant is popular among visitors near Sanbangsan.

3. B Course with Fresh Abalone

As the side dishes whetted our appetite, the main B course began to arrive. Among them, the abalone dolsotbap stood out with its impressive presentation.

Heaps of fresh abalone topped the rice, delivering a rich ocean aroma. Additionally, butter and a special soy sauce were provided to enhance the flavor.

Mixing the butter and special soy sauce into the fluffy rice deepened the flavor, and the tender yet chewy texture of the abalone made it irresistible.

The seafood stew, bubbling and aromatic, was visually appealing and packed with various seafood, creating a rich and savory broth.

The mackerel, grilled to perfection, was large and juicy, with a beautiful sheen that made it look appetizing.

Grilled abalone, cooked on a hot plate, was visually striking, and its tender texture and subtle sea aroma made it a perfect health food.

4. Summer Delicacy: Spicy Abalone Mulhoe

The abalone mulhoe, a refreshing summer dish, was recommended by the restaurant owner. It featured fresh abalone sashimi and crunchy vegetables, making it a generous portion.

The abalone was thinly sliced, providing a delightful crunch that paired well with the spicy and sour broth.

The cool broth enhanced the chewy noodles, filling my mouth with ocean flavor. The addition of orange, a symbol of Jeju, added a refreshing touch to the dish.

5. Overall Impression of the Restaurant Near Shinhwa World

This restaurant, which operates its own abalone farm, allows you to enjoy fresh abalone abundantly. With homemade side dishes and the flavorful abalone dolsotbap, as well as the summer delicacy of abalone mulhoe, I highly recommend it for those planning a trip to Jeju with family.
