Delicious Dining at Seongsan Mackerel Wrap Restaurant

Jeju Island is famous for its many restaurants near Gwangchigi Beach, and among them, there's one place where you can always enjoy a delicious meal.
Let me introduce you to Seongsan Mackerel Wrap Restaurant.
Address: 122-5, Seobji Koji-ro 25beon-gil, Seongsan-eup, Seogwipo, Jeju
Operating Hours: 08:00 - 21:00
I visited Seongsan Mackerel Wrap Restaurant, which is located about a 10-minute drive from Seobji Koji. The restaurant is in a clean, standalone building with large glass windows.
There is also a spacious parking lot in front, making it convenient for large vehicles to visit.
Upon entering the restaurant, I noticed the tidy and well-organized interior. The operating hours starting at 8 AM allow for early meals.
The menu features a variety of dishes, from stews to grilled items, all well-prepared.
The basic side dishes typical of Gwangchigi Beach restaurants filled the table one by one. The soy sauce marinated crab was particularly delicious, making it hard to stop eating.
Other side dishes like fresh vegetables and kimchi paired perfectly with the main dishes, and there was no shortage of sides, which was comforting.
The mackerel wrap was visually stunning from the start. It featured thick aged kimchi with a whole, plump mackerel inside.
The kimchi was cut into bite-sized pieces and was perfectly fermented, making it incredibly tasty.
The mackerel was well-prepared, and it didn’t have any fishy taste, so I couldn’t stop eating it.
The fresh wrap vegetables complemented the mackerel nicely, and the fluffy rice enhanced the overall taste.
Next was the spicy-looking grilled hairtail. The fish was cleaned well, making it easy to eat.
The tender hairtail was infused with seasoning, and the moderately spicy flavor was just right.
The seasoning sauce was so delicious that it paired perfectly with rice, prompting me to mix it into my bowl.
In addition to stews, Seongsan Mackerel Wrap Restaurant is also known for its grilled dishes. I ordered the grilled mackerel as well.
The mackerel was plump and had the right amount of seasoning. The texture was impressive, being both chewy and tender.
The grilled red snapper retained its unique sweetness and tenderness, making it a rare find.
The fish had a rich, nutty flavor, and the portions were quite generous.
When enjoyed with rice, the flavors harmonized beautifully, with a crispy exterior and soft, moist flesh.
The rich sea urchin seaweed soup was generously filled with sea urchin. The broth was warm and flavorful.
With so much sea urchin, the depth of the soup was remarkable, and the seaweed was fresh and crunchy.
I also tried the abalone hot pot, which was packed with shrimp, mushrooms, and abalone.
The abalone was large and flavorful, and the shrimp was also plump.
The broth was light and not overly stimulating, making it easy to enjoy.
With a generous portion, one hot pot was more than enough.
Seongsan Mackerel Wrap Restaurant offers a clean space for a hearty meal. I highly recommend it for anyone craving hairtail stew.
