Delicious Dining at Jeju's Salt House

I arrived in Jeju for a spontaneous trip without the time to check out restaurants.
Fortunately, a friend who frequently visits Jeju recommended some local dining spots in the Jungmun Tourist Complex.
One standout was Salt House Jeju Black Pork Jungmun, known for its excellent meat quality at reasonable prices. I visited multiple times during my trip :)
Located near the Jungmun Saekdal Beach and the Jungmun Tourist Complex, it was convenient to explore the area.
The spacious parking lot in front of the restaurant can accommodate over 70 vehicles.
I appreciated that all meats were half-price as part of a special event.
Despite the low prices, they select only the highest quality Jeju black pork and age it properly, ensuring the meat's quality remains top-notch.
The interior of the restaurant was pleasant, with private rooms available, making it suitable for groups.
It's a family-friendly spot, equipped with several high chairs for children.
We ordered the barley straw-grilled thick black pork cutlets, which included black neck and belly meat, for 76,000 won for 600g, benefiting from a 50% discount due to the event.
I love restaurants with a rich side dish selection, and here, the variety was impressive.
The seasoned fern side dish was particularly delightful, pairing well with the meat.
Fresh wrap vegetables and basic side dishes were available at a self-serve bar for unlimited refills.
To enhance the meat's deep flavor, they use a low-temperature aging process.
The expertly aged meat was thick and grilled to perfection.
The natural charcoal grilling with barley straw helped eliminate any unpleasant odors.
Once grilled to a golden brown, the pork was transferred to our table for further cooking.
The meat was juicy and moist, retaining the unique savory flavor of pork, making it delicious even with just salt.
The accompanying sauces, particularly the salted shrimp sauce, enhanced the flavor, while wasabi helped cut through the richness.
After enjoying the fresh black pork, we decided to try the galbi sal, priced at 38,000 won for 300g. Its chewy texture offered a nice contrast to the other cuts.
After a hearty meal of meat, we felt like having a spicy stew and rice, so we ordered kimchi stew for 8,000 won along with some cold buckwheat noodles.
The well-fermented kimchi provided a refreshing taste, and the deep flavor of the black pork made the broth delicious.
We finished with the cold buckwheat noodles, which were perfect for cleansing the palate after the rich meal.
Overall, dining at Salt House was satisfying, with high-quality aged black pork and a fulfilling meal experience.
