We visited a cozy restaurant near Jeju Airport called Notamenos Sukiyaki, where you can enjoy warm and neat black pork sukiyaki. It was the perfect meal for our last night in Jeju, especially during these chilly times, leaving us with no regrets.

Notamenos Sukiyaki is located at 17 Mugunseong 7-gil, Jeju City, Jeju Special Self-Governing Province.

Operating hours are from 5:00 PM to 10:00 PM.

Parking is available in the alley after 5 PM.

The restaurant is less than a 10-minute drive from Jeju Airport, and we parked in a nearby alley. Since the space is limited and they prepare ingredients in advance, making a reservation is highly recommended.

The exterior of Notamenos Sukiyaki resembles a large glass window, located at a corner of the building. The main entrance is the large glass door right in front.

Upon entering, we were greeted with warm yellow lighting. The seating is arranged in a bar style, and the sukiyaki is served from inside the restaurant.

It was a great place for intimate conversations, making it suitable for anniversaries or special gatherings.

As soon as we sat down, we were provided with warm towels. Our reserved table had a name tag with 'JulyOH' written on it, indicating that this sukiyaki was prepared just for us.

The neatly arranged tableware and a unique glass cup resembling Hallasan Mountain were delightful touches.

The basic sukiyaki is priced at 28,000 KRW per person, and you can order a set with assorted sides. They also offer a selection of various sake and alcoholic beverages. Unfortunately, we couldn't drink due to driving and pregnancy.

We ordered two servings of Jeju Sukiyaki at 28,000 KRW each, which included udon noodles and matcha ice cream for dessert. With dessert included, it was quite a reasonable price.

When we placed our order, they first brought out Jeju native chicken eggs, which you mix with the sukiyaki sauce. Most of the ingredients at Notamenos Sukiyaki are locally sourced from Jeju, making it a unique experience.

The basic components included pickled radish, egg, and white rice, along with refreshing young radish kimchi to share, which was very delicious.

Then, the main sukiyaki arrived in a pot, likely enough for one serving, with an additional serving placed beside it. Instead of adding everything at once, we added ingredients gradually, with the owner checking in on us frequently.

This was my first experience with pork sukiyaki instead of beef, and I was excited to try Jeju black pork. The quality of the meat looked excellent, and all the vegetables were also sourced from Jeju.

The pork appeared to be pork neck, with a good balance of fat and meat, and the color was particularly beautiful. The ingredients were presented neatly in the pot, ready to be cooked with the special sauce.

As we cooked and enjoyed the sukiyaki, the owner provided continuous service, ensuring we had everything we needed, including cutting the vegetables into manageable sizes.

On the back of the menu, they provided instructions on how to enjoy the sukiyaki, recommending the order of eating meat, mushrooms, vegetables, tofu, and konjac. We followed this suggestion and found that the meat could be enjoyed as soon as it lost its redness.

As we started eating the warm sukiyaki, the sweet and savory sauce was a flavor that all Koreans would love. The meat was tender, and the seasoning was perfectly balanced, making it incredibly delicious.

Instead of just dipping the meat in the egg, it’s better to soak it for a moment before eating. Especially when it’s hot, you can let it sit in the egg until it cools down.

After enjoying all the vegetables and meat, you can stir-fry udon noodles in the remaining broth. To finish, they add a sprinkle of shichimi for a slight kick, and mixing it all together creates a delightful dish.

Finally, we enjoyed the Jeju matcha ice cream, which had a perfect balance of bitterness and a subtle matcha aroma, leaving our mouths refreshed.

The entire course was excellent, and each dish felt thoughtfully prepared, making us feel well taken care of. Ending our Jeju trip with sukiyaki created a warm and memorable conclusion.

If you're looking for a happy travel experience or a special date like we had, I highly recommend visiting!
