Celebrating Grandma's Birthday at Geosong Galbijjim: A Must-Visit Restaurant in Naesu, Cheongju

We celebrated my grandmother's birthday at Geosong Galbijjim, a popular rib stew restaurant in Naesu, Cheongju.

I was looking for a good place to treat my grandmother for her birthday. I heard that Geosong Galbijjim, a restaurant famous in Daegu for its long queues over the past 12 years, recently opened a branch in Cheongju, so we decided to visit.
It's located about an 8-minute drive from Yullyang-dong Daewon Cantaville Apartment, and there's a spacious parking lot in front of the restaurant.
The entrance of Geosong Galbijjim is so pretty that I think kids will love it, and it'll make you feel good when treating someone to a meal.

It's a premium rib restaurant with 250 pyeong (approximately 826 square meters), making it a great place for company dinners or important gatherings.
There is a waiting area, and because there is a waiting application, it is good to wait.
They also have private rooms, so I recommend booking a room in advance for important occasions or family gatherings.

The reason why the large restaurant doesn't feel cramped is because of the partition-style interior. It doesn't feel as crowded as a market and has a luxurious interior.
The self-bar has various leafy vegetables, and there is also tea, making it a good place to have a slow conversation after a meal.

I took photos of the restaurant when it was both crowded and empty, and it's really spacious.
As soon as we ordered, they served the side dishes. While we were enjoying the egg porridge and kimchi broth to cleanse our palates and filling our stomachs with perilla oil buckwheat noodles, the food came out quickly.

Because we had a child with us, we ordered soy sauce-flavored rib stew and a medium-spicy rib stew, and also a potato pancake.
Grandma said the soy sauce flavor was her top pick, and I enjoyed the spicy flavor. I'm not good at eating spicy food, but I liked that I could adjust the spiciness level when ordering. The grilled rice cakes that came with it were delicious whether you dipped them in the sauce or ate them plain.

The ribs were so tender that my grandmother said they were easy for her to eat.
We ordered fried rice to mix in the leftover spicy sauce and ate every last grain.
My grandmother and mother even had some scorched rice soup from the self-bar, so it finally felt like we had finished a proper meal.

We refreshed ourselves with sikhye (sweet rice drink) and had a pleasant conversation before wrapping up the meal.
There were several business cards for designated drivers, so it's convenient to call a driver after having some drinks and get home comfortably.
The exterior of Geosong Galbijjim looked even more beautiful at night. My daughter said it was pretty and that she wanted to come again next time, and she even asked me to take pictures.
