Our destination, Modeunbul Jjukkumi, is located just a 5-minute walk from Songnae Station Exit 1.
Just walk straight and you can't miss the large sign that's visible from afar!
Oh, the building is also named Modeun Building... Modeunbul Jjukkumi, nice rhyme!
There seems to be limited parking next to the building, only enough for a couple of cars.
However, there are quite a few public parking lots near Songnae Station, so you can park there and come to eat!
You can get a glimpse of the menu right from the entrance on the first floor.
(Modeunbul Jjukkumi is on the 2nd floor!)
On the way to the 2nd floor, there are separate restrooms for men and women inside the building.
Here's the information at the entrance of the restaurant.
The interior of the restaurant is incredibly spacious.
It's probably the largest restaurant I've been to recently! haha
It can easily accommodate groups of 20 or more, and there's even a raised seating area near the self-service bar.
This is the self-service bar located near the raised seating area in the center of the restaurant, where you can get seaweed soup and side dishes!
In such a large restaurant, it's impossible to order without a bell, right? haha
There are bells and review event notices on each table!
The menu is simple and to the point.
Since it's a Jjukkumi (stir-fried octopus) restaurant, the Jjukkumi menu is naturally the main offering.
Today, we ordered the Grilled Jjukkumi for 2 people!
I'm sensitive to spice, so we ordered the medium spicy level.. haha
One of the advantages of Modeunbul Jjukkumi is that you can adjust the spiciness!
The Jjukkumi place I used to frequent didn't allow spice level adjustments, so you always had to eat it spicy ㅠ
So, there were only adults there, no kids haha
But here, there's no need to worry about that at all!
Families with people of all ages come and enjoy their meals comfortably.
These are the basic side dishes that come out when you sit down.
* Seasoned radish, boiled bean sprouts, radish salad, perilla leaves, sesame oil
Side dishes to appease your hunger before the Jjukkumi arrives.
It's been a while since I had radish salad, and it was delicious haha
And the Acorn Jelly Salad comes out with the side dishes.
The acorn jelly was chewy and soft, and the broth was sweet and sour, which was great to eat with the slightly bitter acorn jelly.
The chopped old kimchi and lettuce added a nice texture and really stimulated my appetite haha
This is the seaweed soup I got from the self-service bar, and as soon as I tasted it, I automatically said, "Delicious!"
It only had seaweed, but it tasted great.
So I refilled it about three times.. ㅠㅠㅠ
And here's the Jjukkumi with a medium level of spiciness that came out without a long wait.
It made a grand entrance, showing off its glossy sheen.
The sweet smoky flavor was perfect.
And here's the fluffy pot rice that came with it.
You can enjoy pot rice at a Jjukkumi restaurant...
Can you feel how well-cooked the rice is even in the picture??
The advantage of pot rice is that you can scoop out the rice and pour water into the pot.
Later, you can enjoy scorched rice as a dessert! haha
So much! And here's the crispy and savory pancake that came with it.
Now that everything is here, let's start eating!
It's definitely a Jjukkumi 맛집 (delicious restaurant)!
Rather than the scissors being sharp, it feels like the Jjukkumi is so tender that it cuts easily.
It's tender, fresh, and chewy.
The seasoning is a perfect balance of sweet and salty, making it perfect for mixing with rice. It doesn't feel like they use a lot of artificial flavors.
The subtle smoky flavor and bright red seasoning make it look delicious,
But it wasn't spicy at all and was perfect for me, who is sensitive to spice.
Enjoying the Jjukkumi in various ways ㅋㅎ
The owner said it's delicious to eat with the pancake,
And it really goes well with the Jjukkumi!
The combination of the flour in the pancake and the seasoning of the Jjukkumi is great!
After scooping out the rice from the pot rice and pouring water, here's the completed scorched rice.
It's lukewarm, so it's perfect to eat without burning your mouth.
It's great to enjoy it as plain scorched rice or rice tea, but I left some Jjukkumi and ate it together haha
Today, I discovered a cost-effective Jjukkumi 맛집 (delicious restaurant) near my house,
So I'm full and feeling great!
The best thing was that I could eat non-spicy Jjukkumi.
I promised to only come here when I eat Jjukkumi.
When I came out after eating, it suddenly started raining?
But Songnae Station is right there!
I ran as fast as I could and didn't get too wet on the way home. ^^v
Modeunbul Jjukkumi near Songnae Station is a great place for families to dine out, for people of all ages.
I highly recommend this cost-effective 맛집 (delicious restaurant) that you won't regret visiting!
Thank you.
