Aewol Black Pig: A Must-Visit Restaurant in Jeju

During my trip to Jeju, I made sure to indulge in some black pork. I enjoyed Jeju black pork every day during my 3-day, 2-night stay, and while both meals were delicious, my visit to Aewol Black Pig on the first day left a lasting impression.

The quality of the meat was exceptional, and all the side dishes were skillfully prepared, making me fall in love with this place.

1. Aewol Black Pig: Restaurant Information

While searching for black pork restaurants in Jeju, I found that there are many in the Aewol area. After thorough research, we decided to visit the charmingly named restaurant, Aewol Black Pig. Conveniently located near the Aewol coastal road, it's a great spot for a drive. After our meal, we enjoyed a refreshing drive by the sea.

Parking was easy with dedicated spaces available, making it accessible for even novice drivers.

Upon entering the restaurant, we were greeted by a refrigerator displaying the beautiful Aewol black pork. This establishment only serves certified Jeju female pigs, which are known for their superior taste compared to male pigs, offering a much more tender texture and no unpleasant odors.

✔ Address: 17, Buryeongsu-gil, Aewol-eup, Jeju-si

✔ Hours: Daily from 11 AM to 10 PM

✔ Amenities: Group reservations, child and pet-friendly

2. A Warm and Inviting Interior

The dining area has been serving Jeju black pork for over 20 years, exuding a sense of tradition. While it may lack the modern facilities of newly opened meat restaurants, the taste is what truly matters to me, and I found it to be a genuine local gem.

As I sat there, I felt a cozy atmosphere, almost like being in a cabin with an ocean view. It’s not just an old establishment; it has a unique charm.

3. Menu and Presentation

The menu featured thick slices of black pork and sweetly seasoned bulgogi as the main dishes, along with a variety of side dishes like live octopus, stews, and cold noodles. After some deliberation, we ordered a signature black pork set and decided to add a live abalone to our soybean paste stew.

The side dishes were so abundant that I could have easily finished a bowl of rice without the meat. The crab dishes came with both spicy and soy sauce options, making it a delightful experience.

4. Premium Jeju Female Pig

The star of the day, the Aewol black pork, was thick and beautifully colored, stimulating my taste buds even before cooking. The balance of fat and meat was fantastic.

The staff grilled the meat for us, ensuring it was perfectly cooked and infused with charcoal flavor, which was greatly appreciated.

5. Flavorful Seafood Soybean Paste Stew

The highlight of the meal was the seafood soybean paste stew. Adding a live abalone elevated the flavor, making it refreshing and deep. It was the perfect way to cleanse the palate after the rich meat.

If you’re looking for high-quality Jeju black pork at reasonable prices, head to Aewol Black Pig. You’ll enjoy a satisfying meal with flavorful pork, delicious crab, and hearty stew.
