A Visit to Hamji Restaurant in Chuncheon
This review is my personal experience at 'Hamji Restaurant' in Chuncheon.
Today, I would like to introduce you to Hamji Restaurant, located on Jungang-ro in Chuncheon.
This place holds nostalgic memories for locals and is a beloved spot for special occasions.
It has maintained a retro vibe from the 80s, continuing to be cherished even after 40 years.
The menu features delicious dishes like Hamji Set Meal, Beef Cutlet, Hamburger Steak, and Tonkatsu.
Let’s dive into my experience from my recent visit!
Hamji Restaurant is known for its old-style Hamburger Steak and Tonkatsu, making it a cherished memory for locals.
It is located near Myeongdong in Chuncheon, directly across from the Nonghyup Bank.
Parking is conveniently available in a public parking lot across the street.
The restaurant operates from 11:30 AM to 8:30 PM, closed every Sunday.
Upon entering, friendly staff dressed neatly greet you.
After informing them of your party size, you will be seated at your designated table.
The atmosphere is authentically retro, reminiscent of the 80s.
Locals say it used to be a place with a higher price range, often visited only on special occasions like graduations or birthdays.
My husband often suggests going to Hamji during graduation season.
Now, let’s get to the menu!
I had already decided on the Hamji Set Meal, which includes Hamburger Steak, Tonkatsu, and Grilled Shrimp with Cheese.
This is one of the most popular menu items.
All menu items come with soup, salad, and dessert.
The first dish served was Cream Soup, which can be chosen between cream and vegetable.
The soup is light, perfect for a pre-meal starter.
Next, we had a fresh Green Salad with a sweet and tangy dressing.
We also enjoyed some bread with butter.
Finally, the much-anticipated Hamji Set Meal arrived.
The visual appeal was already a winner!
The set includes Hamburger Steak, Tonkatsu, and Grilled Shrimp with Cheese, accompanied by corn and broccoli.
The flavors are nostalgic, reminiscent of meals from the past.
The Hamburger Steak and Tonkatsu are soft and not overly rich, making them favorites for all ages.
The Grilled Shrimp with Cheese is a must-try, an exceptional combination!
The set also includes rice, making it quite filling.
After the meal, the staff offers dessert options, including soda, coffee, juice, and ice cream.
I chose to finish with ice cream, while others ordered coffee.
Hamji Restaurant is a place where you can enjoy a complete meal from soup to dessert.
I hope it continues to thrive in Chuncheon for many more years!
