A Taste of Tradition: Discovering Wolrang in Chilgok, Daegu

Hello everyone, it's Yo-Youngman!!
Today, I'm excited to introduce a fantastic restaurant in Chilgok District 3, Daegu, thanks to a great opportunity!
It's Wolrang Chilgok, located on Itaewon Street in Chilgok District 3.
I visited with a friend after work!
Since it's located in the bustling Chilgok District 3, parking can be challenging.
However, there's a free public parking lot a bit further away, so I recommend parking there if you're driving!
I walked because I was planning to drink! lol
The sign is very impressive.
I know Wolrang has its main branch in downtown Daegu.
Besides the main branch, there are about six other locations in the Daegu and Gyeongsan area.
I've been to the main branch and the Gwangjangko branch before,
but I personally like the Chilgok branch the best! haha
The hall has a two-story layout, but I don't think I've ever sat on the second floor haha.
As expected of a popular restaurant in Guam-dong, the hall is very spacious and has a beam projector, which is great.
I also watched baseball while drinking this time! haha
It's a great place for sports fans!
I usually order the Wolrang Assorted Pancake, but
I'm on a bit of a diet these days, so I ordered the Bossam Set!
And since it's a makgeolli (Korean rice wine) place, we're starting with Eunjagol Saeng Takbaegi.
Bossam Set: ₩28,000 / Eunjagol Saeng Takbaegi: ₩5,000.
Since my hometown is Euncheok, Sangju,
I always order this makgeolli when I see it! haha
It doesn't have a strong tangy taste, but it's very refreshing and feels especially cool,
and it goes down smoothly.
Give it a try sometime~!!!
Oh, and ordering is done via tablet at the table.
It seems like a savior for those with an "I" personality type haha.
I'm an "E", but I use it well when it's available haha.
First, they give us a water bottle and crackers!
It's a common snack in bars, but it was crispy and in good condition.
And then comes the Buchu-jeon (chive pancake) and Makguksu (buckwheat noodles)!
The set is so good that it feels like it's worth the money!
The pancake has a lot of squid and shrimp and is crispy and well-cooked, so it's delicious!
The Makguksu was also great!
Buchu-jeon and Makguksu are the best snacks at the beginning of autumn! haha
And the Bossam has arrived..!!
Wow, this set for ₩28,000... isn't that crazy with today's prices?? haha
After seeing what came out before, I was worried that there wouldn't be enough meat, but they gave us a generous amount!
Underneath the Bossam, there are bean sprouts, enoki mushrooms, and garland chrysanthemum, so you can think of it as being served with steamed vegetables haha.
You can see why it's called a restaurant in Chilgok District 3!!
I really like the table setting.. haha
Wolrang must be the best bar in Chilgok District 3 haha
Starting lightly with a glass of makgeolli haha
Making a wrap and eating it deliciously haha
I'm not bragging, but the two of us drank 2 bottles of makgeolli and 6 bottles of soju that day... haha
I'm always too busy having fun when I drink to leave any proof shots haha.
And.. this is a picture of the Assorted Pancake from a previous visit,
and I highly recommend it!!
₩25,000 gets you about 10 kinds of pancakes, almost like a memorial table for the holidays haha
What's even better is that they don't pre-cook it and make it fresh.
It goes well with makgeolli or soju.
* Overall Review
I've been to this place often even before they invited me thanks to this great opportunity.
I think it's been in Chilgok District 3 for quite some time haha
It's a real haven for people like me who drink several bottles of alcohol with just one dish haha.
Everything I've tried was delicious, so I recommend visiting without hesitation!!
Thank you for reading this far.
