A Taste of New York Street Food in Itaewon: The Halal Bros Experience

After a long time, I went to Itaewon and, while wondering what to eat for lunch, I stopped by 'The Halal Bros'. I was curious because it's a place that sells halal food, a very famous street food in New York.
It was easy to find since it's located near Itaewon Station, and the exotic smell emanating from the front of the store made me stop in my tracks. It felt like I was in the middle of New York City.
The interior of the store was smaller than I expected, but it felt neat and tidy. The photos of New York scenery hanging on the wall added to the authentic atmosphere. There were many customers who came alone, and it was nice to see friends chatting and eating together.
As lunchtime approached, more and more customers arrived, making me realize once again that this is a hot spot in Itaewon.
I ordered the most signature menu, the Lamb Over Rice regular set (₩14,900), using the kiosk. My friend ordered the Chicken Over Rice (₩10,400), and another friend ordered the Chicken Wrap Sandwich (₩6,400). It was nice that we could choose the sauce according to our preference.
The ordered menu came out, and I was surprised by the generous amount.

The Lamb Over Rice was topped with plenty of large lamb pieces over rice, and the combination of fresh vegetables and sauce made the colors really pretty.
The lamb was tender without any gamey smell, and the unique aroma of spices stimulated my appetite.
Mixing it with rice, every spoonful was really filling and delicious.
It wasn't greasy and had a clean taste, so I kept eating.

The french fries included in the set weren't thin fries, but thick fries. They were crispy on the outside and moist on the inside, so they were really delicious. Eating them hot and freshly fried had a different charm than the fries from a hamburger place.
I took a bite of the Chicken Over Rice that my friend ordered, and the combination of tender chicken and rice was savory and delicious. I also took a bite of the Chicken Wrap Sandwich, and the wrap was packed with ingredients, so it looked hearty.
Overall, it was a satisfying meal. I could really taste the flavors of New York street food, and I liked that the portion sizes were generous for the price. If you want to have a simple yet filling meal near Itaewon, I recommend visiting The Halal Bros in Itaewon.
