A Taste of Italy in Gwanghwamun: La Grillia Review

Known for its delicious Italian cuisine in Gwanghwamun,
La Grillia Gwanghwamun

Operating Hours: Daily 11:00 AM - 9:30 PM
No Break Time
Hello! I recently visited La Grillia in Gwanghwamun, an Italian restaurant recommended by a friend after finishing my schedule in Seoul. I'm here to share my experience.
I arrived at La Grillia Gwanghwamun a bit early after finishing my afternoon schedule in Seoul. I had a reservation for two at 6 PM, but I arrived 30 minutes ahead of time.
If you're driving, you can use the mechanical parking lot in the Cheonggye Building. If you have an SUV, it's recommended to use a nearby public parking lot.
Consider using the public parking lot in front of the New International Hotel or the one next to the Kolon Building.
I had a hard time finding the entrance, haha.
La Grillia in Gwanghwamun is known as a great Italian restaurant, especially famous for its T-bone steak.
Since I've been on a ketogenic diet for a while and have had my fill of meat, I decided to go for pasta and pizza today.
They had a vast selection of wines. Although wine pairs well with steak, I decided to skip the steak and go for a refreshing beer instead.

Even though it was a bit early for dinner, there were already a few customers. The interior is spacious with high ceilings, so it doesn't feel cramped and has an open feeling.
There were quite a lot of tables. The window tables overlooking Cheonggyecheon Stream looked the best.
This place had a very large open kitchen. I saw the open kitchen on my way to the restroom, and it looked clean and well-organized.
Perhaps because there were many chefs, the food I ordered came out really quickly, which was great!
We Koreans like things fast.
A really large wine refrigerator in the hallway leading to the restroom caught my eye.
There's a spacious and comfortable group table on the side of the restaurant, so it would be a good place for family gatherings or group outings.

The windows facing Cheonggyecheon Stream offer a beautiful night view.
I sat down in a seat overlooking Cheonggyecheon Stream. I was excited to eat something delicious.
It's been so long since I've had carbs! Haha
They served bread as an appetizer. I asked for butter, which I love, and enjoyed it with the balsamic oil sauce.
Chugging a beer quenched my thirst and made me feel refreshed!
I'm starting to understand why people drink beer.
There was a kiosk on the table, but being indecisive, I called a staff member and asked for recommendations... haha.
Because I've been on intermittent fasting and a ketogenic diet lately, my stomach has shrunk. So, instead of ordering a set menu, I ordered the Burrata Margherita pizza and Vongole pasta a la carte.
Since my stomach has shrunk, I don't get greedy with hunger before eating. Western food can feel rich after a certain point, so I always regret it if I order too much.
I was almost half full with just the bread and beer, but the food came out incredibly fast. First, the Vongole oil pasta arrived.
Soon after, the Burrata Cheese Margherita pizza arrived. The burrata cheese looked so delicious!

It was even more delicious because it was baked in a wood-fired oven.
The Vongole oil pasta was also amazing. Acknowledged as a great restaurant and great atmosphere!
La Grillia Gwanghwamun Location
I recommend stopping by if you come to Gwanghwamun. Anyone who likes Western food will enjoy it.
After eating delicious Western food, a walk along Cheonggyecheon Stream is a must, right? It was my first time visiting Cheonggyecheon at night, and there were so many people.

It was impressive to see children, couples, and adults cooling off by dipping their feet in the water.
So, I dipped my feet in like a child too. The water wasn't cold, but lukewarm. Today was so hot and humid, but it was a fulfilling day with work, delicious food, and a visit to Cheonggyecheon Stream.
