A Taste of Autumn and Delicious Handmade Noodles Near Namhansanseong Fortress

It feels like autumn has truly arrived in just a few days.
The wind is noticeably chilly, and the sky seems higher than before.
After attending the first birthday party of my husband's friend's son, we went to my in-laws' place for dinner since it was nearby.
My father-in-law knows so many great restaurants, so we always trust his choices.
A 20-minute drive is nothing to my father-in-law.
This time, we went near Namhansanseong Fortress again.
The place is called Eun Goge Son Kalguksu (은고개 손칼국수). According to my husband, a Gwangju native, it's a well-known local favorite!
More than just a delicious restaurant, the air is fantastic.
It's close to the mountains, and there's a stream in front of the restaurant, so you can hear the water flowing.
The days are getting shorter, so it got dark quickly.
If it had been a little brighter, we could have gone down to the stream.

I highly recommend the Guling Mandu (굴림만두, rolled dumplings).
You can have regular King Dumplings (왕만두) anytime, but Guling Mandu are special to this place.
Ta-da!
The dumpling skin is so thin that you can almost see all the filling.
It's almost like eating only the filling, but the chewy skin enhances the flavor even more.

Our little one ate two dumplings all by himself!
When our second child enjoys something, he *really* enjoys it, and he kept saying "Delicious!" while eating.

The Kalguksu (칼국수, knife-cut noodle soup) noodles seem to be handmade.
There seems to be something special about this Eun Goge Kalguksu place.
It has a unique yet familiar taste.

The seasoning comes on top of the noodles from the beginning.
Since it's only on the top, if you're with young children, you can easily remove it.

If you need something spicy on a chilly day, I recommend adding more!

If you ever come near Namhansanseong Fortress, be sure to visit Eun Goge Son Kalguksu!

Even just eating the Kalguksu, I felt like I was nourishing my body. :)

Of course, there's plenty of parking available!
