A Satisfying Start to Your Jeju Trip: Discovering a Delicious Breakfast Spot in Aewol!

Jeju Island offers a plethora of delicious foods to try during your visit. Among them, I particularly love a warm bowl of soup that can provide a hearty start to the day. And of course, Jeju has its own unique specialties.
Recently, while traveling near Aewol, I received a recommendation from locals for a restaurant that exceeded all expectations.
Aewol is famous for its beautiful coastal roads and charming cafes, but finding a place to enjoy a delicious meal early in the morning is a different kind of delight. After a leisurely morning at my accommodation, enjoying the scenery outside the window, I started to get hungry.
While pondering where to go, a friend enthusiastically recommended Idi Gogi Guksu (Pork Noodle Soup) Aewol Main Branch. It was a perfect choice to satisfy my desire for a hearty breakfast.
Located at 7055, Iljuseo-ro, Aewol-eup, Jeju-si, Jeju-do, Idi Gogi Guksu Aewol Main Branch was easier to find than I expected. It’s conveniently located along a wide road, making it easy to drive to.
Upon arriving, I felt a neat and welcoming atmosphere. Despite the early hour, several customers were already enjoying their meals. It seems that those in the know are already aware of this gem.
Stepping inside, I felt a warm and cozy ambiance. The simple and comfortable interior design had a calming effect. Jeju landscape photos adorned the walls, and small decorative items on each table added to the charm. It seemed like a space where solo travelers, friends, and families alike could all enjoy a comfortable meal.
Sitting down, I slowly perused the menu. As expected, the main dish here was noodles. In addition to Gogi Guksu, they offered various types of noodle dishes such as Bibim Guksu (spicy mixed noodles) and Anchovy Noodle Soup.
However, since I came all the way to Aewol, I knew I had to try their signature dish, Gogi Guksu. The side dishes also looked amazing and I was struggling to choose.
Finally, the dish I ordered arrived. I ordered the signature menu, Gogi Guksu, of course! The milky, rich broth was topped with tender slices of boiled pork and chewy noodles.
Thinly sliced scallions, dried seaweed flakes, and sesame seeds were sprinkled on top, creating a mouthwatering visual.
First, I took a spoonful of the broth. Wow, the rich and deep flavor filled my mouth! The deep and savory aroma, as if pork bones had been simmered for a long time, was superb.
There was no greasy taste at all, and the clean yet rich flavor was truly impressive. Starting the day with such a hearty and delicious broth made me feel great.
Next, it was time to taste the noodles. I heard that they use fresh, homemade noodles here, which explained their perfectly chewy texture.
The chewy and soft noodles went well with the rich broth, making it easy to swallow. I slurped up the noodles several times.
The way they wrapped around my mouth was very satisfying.
And I couldn't leave out the boiled pork slices that were used as toppings. Although they were thickly sliced, they were not dry at all, but so tender that they seemed to melt in my mouth.
Because it was so clean without any gamey taste, it tasted delicious whether eaten with the broth or on its own. The scallion salad and kimchi that came with it also enriched the taste of the noodles.
Even though I was satisfied with just the Gogi Guksu, there were many other attractive menu items here. In particular, the unique peanut makgeolli (Korean rice wine) caught my eye.
It is said to be a special drink that adds the savory flavor of peanuts to makgeolli made in the traditional Jeju way. It seemed like a good choice for those who like makgeolli or want a special experience.
Of course, I skipped it because it was breakfast, but I look forward to the next time!

I also tried the grilled rib dumplings, which seemed to be popular with families with children. The thin skin was filled with sweet and savory marinated ribs, making it a taste that everyone, young and old, would enjoy.
The dumpling skin was thin and chewy, and the inside was filled with juicy meat, so the more I chewed, the more savory it tasted.

If you are looking for a healthy menu, acorn jelly with perilla oil is a good choice. The combination of savory perilla oil and bitter acorn jelly was very impressive.
It had a non-stimulating yet appetizing charm. It seemed perfect to start lightly or to eat with the main dish.

And Jeju Dombe Gogi, which feels like an essential part of a Jeju trip, was also available. The thickly sliced Dombe Gogi boasted a soft texture, with the outside slightly cooked and the inside moist.
Dipping it in ssamjang (soybean paste) or meljeot (anchovy sauce) allowed me to fully experience the flavor of Jeju. I think it's the best menu for those who want a hearty meal.

For those who want more food or like rice, a bowl of rice was also available. It's another delicacy to eat rice in the remaining broth!
It will be a great option for those who want to fill their stomachs.

Idi Gogi Guksu Aewol Main Branch was outstanding not only for its delicious food but also for its careful consideration for its customers.
There was plenty of parking space, so it was easy to bring a car. Jeju Island is often visited by car rather than public transportation, so convenient parking is a great advantage.

Inside the store, baby chairs were prepared to allow families with young children to eat comfortably. Thanks to this, the children were able to enjoy the delicious noodles.
In addition, the men's and women's restrooms were well separated, making them convenient to use. It was kept clean and tidy, so I was able to use it with pleasure.

It is said that there is a space available for groups to use comfortably. It would be nice to visit with friends or as a family gathering.
If you make a reservation in advance, you can use it more smoothly!

And free wireless internet access was available, so it was good to check my contacts or search for information while eating. I could feel the owner's consideration in every corner.
There was also a waiting area where you could stay before and after your meal, making it convenient to use.

As you drive along the Aewol Coastal Road, there are many delicious restaurants, but it's not easy to find a place that is both hearty and memorable, especially for breakfast. I can confidently say that Idi Gogi Guksu Aewol Main Branch is an excellent breakfast restaurant in Aewol that can solve those concerns.

The rich and deep broth of Gogi Guksu filled me up, and all the side dishes I tried, such as the grilled rib dumplings and Dombe Gogi, were excellent. Above all, I really liked the fact that I could enjoy a neat meal in a comfortable and cozy atmosphere.

If you want to experience a delicious meal in the beautiful scenery of Jeju Island, or if you plan to visit Aewol, you should consider this place. After enjoying the clear blue Jeju sea to your heart's content, the experience of starting the day with a warm bowl of soup will be truly special.

Thanks to Idi Gogi Guksu Aewol Main Branch, I was able to have a really hearty and happy morning on this trip to Jeju. It's a place I would definitely like to visit again on my next visit to Jeju.
If you are looking for a delicious breakfast in Aewol, remember this place and you will surely have a satisfying time!
