A Review of Brick Pocha Hongdae: The Trendy Drinking Spot

Recently, I made plans to grab drinks with friends for the first time in a while. I looked for a nearby place and found Brick Pocha in Hongdae, known for its hip atmosphere. The ambiance was great, and it perfectly matched my taste, so I decided to share my thoughts!
Brick Pocha Hongdae
Address: 5, Wausan-ro 17-gil, Mapo-gu, Seoul
Operating Hours: Daily from 5 PM to 5 AM / Fridays and Saturdays until 6 AM
1. Brick Pocha Hongdae
The place we visited was Brick Pocha Hongdae. Since everyone was hungry, we wanted a place with hearty snacks, and this spot was just right. The food was not only plentiful but also delicious.
2. Location and Exterior
The location was very convenient, just a short walk from Sangsu Station Exit 1. You can also come from Hapjeong Station Exit 3 or 6. The exterior is eye-catching, making it easy to find.
Although you can walk from Hongdae Entrance Station, I recommend Sangsu Station Exit 1 as the closest option. For those driving, public parking near Hongdae Sang Sang Madang is available.
The restaurant opens daily at 5 PM and operates until 5 AM, making it perfect for late-night dining. On Fridays and Saturdays, they extend hours until 6 AM.
3. Atmosphere
Upon entering, you are greeted by a retro vibe reminiscent of a traditional pocha. It's rare to find a place that captures this feeling so well, and it's no wonder it's famous as a trendy drinking spot in Hongdae. The vibrant red round tables and colorful lights create a great atmosphere.
On the first floor, there's a cute hall that brings back memories of elementary school with charming doodles on the chalkboard, adding to the fun ambiance.
When I went to check out the second floor, I was surprised to find many private rooms without any additional fees for using them. This is perfect for special occasions or parties.
The rooms were spacious and comfortable, making them ideal for celebrations like birthdays.
4. Menu
After settling down, I looked at the menu and was delighted by the variety of popular and new dishes along with various drinks. It was a joyful dilemma deciding what to order.
After some deliberation, we ordered a few items, and they arrived surprisingly quickly. The first dish we tried was the Mala Jeongol, which was excellent quality.
The broth had a strong mala flavor, and the numbing aroma really stimulated my appetite. The generous portion of broth cooked the ingredients perfectly, making everything look appetizing.
The dish was packed with beef, tofu, and various vegetables, impressively loaded. The taste and quality rivaled that of specialized mala restaurants, and the generous portions were a bonus.
5. Why I Recommend Brick Pocha
Overall, the experience was fantastic, from the delicious food to the vibrant atmosphere. The portions were substantial, and the value for money was excellent, making me eager to visit again!
