Finally, I took a trip to Jeju Island after a long time! The Jeju weather was so clear and warm that I truly felt like I was on vacation. Even the breeze was refreshing, putting me in a great mood from the very first day!

My first stop in Jeju was Sister Noodles (Jamae Guksu), a place many of you probably already know. It's such a famous restaurant, I couldn't help but have high expectations.

We arrived before opening time, but there were already many people waiting in line. That's how it is with famous places, right? We waited too, and finally got in! Time for our exciting first meal.

Once seated, the side dishes are immediately set on the table. The neatly prepared side dishes whet your appetite. Only the basic side dishes are provided, and if you need more, you can get them from the self-service bar.

The most delicious thing for my husband and I was the crunchy radish kimchi. The cool, slightly tangy flavor went so well with the noodles. The regular kimchi was good too, but the radish kimchi was truly special.

And we ordered Dombe meat, which you can only truly enjoy in Jeju. Thickly sliced Dombe meat is served with lettuce for wrapping, crunchy seasoned radish, spicy peppers, garlic, salted shrimp, and ssamjang (Korean dipping sauce). Dipping a piece of meat in the salted shrimp sauce, the savory, juicy flavor that spread throughout my mouth was truly fantastic. (If you need more side dishes, the staff will bring them to you right away!)

The dishes we ordered that day were a large serving of Pork Noodle Soup and Bibim Guksu (Spicy Mixed Noodles). The thought of eating authentic local food as soon as we arrived in Jeju made me smile.

First, the Pork Noodle Soup! The milky, rich broth, chewy noodles, and generous amount of pork were abundant at first glance. The moment I took a spoonful of the broth, the deep pork flavor and savory taste enveloped my mouth, making me think, 'Why isn't Sister Noodles in Seoul?' I wish I could make it at home often, even if it were a 밀키트 (meal kit).

The Bibim Guksu had chewy noodles well mixed in a spicy and sweet sauce, topped generously with pork. Just looking at it made my mouth water. Putting a piece of meat on top of the noodles in a lettuce wrap, the combination of spiciness and savory flavor was a match made in heaven! Starting our first meal of the day so abundantly and deliciously made the trip feel even more enjoyable.

If you come to Jeju Island, I highly recommend Sister Noodles' Pork Noodle Soup and Dombe meat for your first meal. You can truly experience the deep flavors of Jeju.
