Exploring Ulsan's Cherry Blossom Hotspot: Gunggeorang
I recently visited Gunggeorang, a popular cherry blossom hotspot in Ulsan.
The sound of flowing water at Mugocheon, along with beautiful lighting and countless cherry blossoms, makes Gunggeorang a well-recognized cherry blossom destination in Ulsan.
Right now, the cherry blossoms are in full bloom, over 90% open.
The Gunggeorang Cherry Blossom Festival will take place from April 4 (Saturday) to April 5 (Sunday), 2026.
Whether you visit during the day or at night, Gunggeorang is stunning. While weekends are great for visits, I recommend coming on weekdays for a more relaxed experience.
The starry tunnel, night lights, photo zones, and a vibrant flea market await visitors.
This year's flea market has expanded compared to last year.
In addition to the flea market, there are many food trucks offering a variety of delicious treats.
The combination of Mugocheon, cherry blossoms, and lighting is truly beautiful. While daytime visits are lovely, the nighttime scenery at Gunggeorang is even more enchanting.
Walking along the beautiful cherry blossom path, grabbing snacks from food trucks, and exploring the flea market makes time fly by.
The Iru Market is ongoing from March 28 to April 5, 2026, alongside the Gunggeorang Cherry Blossom Festival, which features a large stage.
The festival will kick off with an opening ceremony on Saturday, April 4, at 19:30, at the Mugocheon Ecological Stream. This year, invited artists include Jeon Yoo-jin, Shin Dae-yang, Kim So-young, Friends, and Buddy Kim.
The flea market has grown even larger this year, offering various food, experiences, and shopping opportunities.
As you enjoy the experiences and delicious food, you might lose track of time.
At Mugocheon Gunggeorang, you can also see beautiful yellow tulips alongside the cherry blossoms. The combination of pink cherry blossoms and yellow tulips is simply stunning.
Many citizens are taking photos against the backdrop of cherry blossoms and tulips.
Even in pictures, it looks incredibly beautiful!
Families and couples are enjoying the spring by appreciating the cherry blossoms.
When visiting to see the cherry blossoms, parking is crucial.
The area around Gunggeorang is residential, making street parking quite challenging.
There are three public parking lots nearby:
- Samho-dong Bokgaejeon Public Parking Lot - a 3-minute walk to Gunggeorang
- Munsu International Archery Range Parking Lot - a 20-minute walk to Gunggeorang
- Parking Lot Near Ulsan University - a 15-minute walk to Gunggeorang
Weekends can be quite busy, so I recommend parking further away for a more comfortable visit.
Every year, I feel that the cherry blossoms at Gunggeorang are truly beautiful.
With numerous cherry blossom trees, the sound of flowing water, and many delicious restaurants nearby, it’s an excellent date spot in Ulsan.
This year, I visited the lovely cherry blossom hotspot at Mugocheon Gunggeorang again, and it seems that each visit offers more events and activities, which is wonderful for Ulsan citizens.
