A Must-Visit 곱창 Spot in Konkuk University Area: 60-Year Tradition Sinchon Hwangso 곱창

If you're a 곱창 (gopchang, Korean grilled small intestines) lover, there's one place you absolutely have to visit.
It's the Konkuk University branch of 60-Year Tradition Sinchon Hwangso 곱창. Whenever I looked for a 곱창 place near Konkuk University, I used to spend ages deciding. After visiting here, I just go straight there without hesitation.
As the name suggests, the original location is in Sinchon. This branch is directly managed by the headquarters, ensuring fresh ingredients and guaranteed quality.
When you visit, you'll find a comfortable atmosphere and friendly staff, making it easy for newcomers to enjoy. It's already a well-known 곱창 맛집 (delicious restaurant), but experiencing it yourself will definitely show you why.
I first went on a Sunday evening and was lucky enough to get in right away without waiting.
I've heard there's usually a wait, so finding the right time to go will let you enjoy it more comfortably.
곱창 (gopchang) and 대창 (daechang, Korean grilled large intestines) are the main items on the menu. Ordering 대창 (daechang) comes with 염통 (yeomtong, beef heart), which is fun to eat like a platter.
The portions of 곱창 (gopchang) are quite generous, making you wonder if they accidentally gave you a double portion. The 대창 (daechang) is especially plump and visually appetizing, making you drool the moment you see it. It comes with a salad and a spicy chili soy sauce, so the 곱창 (gopchang) never gets too rich.
It's amazing how much you can eat with just that sauce.
One of this restaurant's unique charms is its cooking method.
Unlike typical 곱창 (gopchang) restaurants, they slightly fry it in oil, making the outside crispy and the inside chewy. The owner removes the excess oil, so it's not heavy, and the bits of 곱 (gop, fat inside the intestines) that come out become crispy like crackers, which is another delicacy.

The 염통 (yeomtong), 벌집 (beoljip, honeycomb tripe), and 양지머리 (yangji meori, brisket) are lightly cooked and dipped in soy sauce for a soft texture, while the crispy 곱창 (gopchang) bursts with flavor, allowing you to truly experience the charm of 곱창 (gopchang).
These details show why it's one of the best restaurants in the Konkuk University area.

We started with two servings of 곱창 (gopchang) and one serving of 대창 (daechang), but ended up ordering more. The 곱창 (gopchang) was so delicious that we couldn't stop eating it.
Adding one serving gives you four strips, which is perfect for sharing among three people.
And, of course, the highlight of any 곱창 (gopchang) restaurant is the 마무리 볶음밥 (ma-mu-ri bokkeumbap, fried rice at the end).

Fried rice on the oil-soaked griddle is a taste you can't give up, even when you're full.
We ended up clearing two orders of fried rice.
The combination of the rich flavor of 곱창 (gopchang) and savory rice is always the right answer.
In conclusion, 60-Year Tradition Sinchon Hwangso 곱창's Konkuk University branch is a place that won't disappoint 곱창 (gopchang) lovers.

I was satisfied with everything, from the generous 대창 (daechang) and crispy 곱창 (gopchang) to the attentive and generous cooking method.
I've already revisited, but there's a clear reason why I want to go again.

If you're looking for a 곱창 (gopchang) restaurant in the Konkuk University area, and want to experience the real taste of 곱창 (gopchang), don't hesitate to recommend this place.
Going with a friend who loves 곱창 (gopchang) will make the conversation and taste even more enjoyable.
