A Memorable Meat Experience in Jongno

When making plans in Jongno,
the question often arises: "Where should we go?"
I found myself in that exact situation.
While walking near Jongno 3-ga Station on Seosunra-gil,
a place caught my eye immediately with its exterior.
It was the Jongno 3-ga branch of Meat Lover's.
I had heard of Meat Lover's before,
as their first location in Hyehwa is quite famous.
So, I thought, "I can't go wrong here,"
and entered without hesitation.
As soon as I walked in,
I was struck by the cleanliness typical of a new establishment.
Tables, floors, and chairs were all spotless,
and there was hardly any of the usual chaos found in meat restaurants.
The interior featured a wood and white tone that captured the essence of a traditional Korean house,
creating a distinctly different atmosphere from your typical pork belly restaurant.
The soft lighting was perfect for taking photos,
making it suitable for dates, blind dates, or gatherings.
The spacious table arrangement ensured that I didn't feel cramped next to other diners.
As soon as I sat down,
the basic setup was neatly arranged,
which left a great first impression.
The side dishes of perilla leaves and green onions were perfectly suited for pork belly and neck meat.
Then came the meat.
I was genuinely surprised by the thickness, texture, and marbling of the meat,
which were clearly superior to other places.
I ordered the neck meat, a signature dish of Meat Lover's,
and it was truly thick and glistening.
All the cuts, including back ribs and pork belly, instilled confidence just by their appearance.
The best part was the staff grilling the meat for you.
You can relax and chat without worrying about the grill,
as they cook it to perfection.
The cooking was spot on,
with the outside crispy and the inside juicy.
Especially the neck meat was thick yet tender,
keeping its moisture throughout.
Roasted garlic was also served,
which enhanced the flavor when paired with the meat.
The detail of keeping the grilled meat warm on the plate was impressive.
The meat was so good that even with just salt,
it was delicious, and the combination with the side dishes was perfect.
There was no unpleasant odor,
and the freshness was evident from the first bite.
The side dishes were definitely not an afterthought.
The soybean paste stew had a rich flavor,
with plenty of tofu and ingredients that paired perfectly with rice.
The kimchi stew was clean and not overpowering,
making it a great match with the meat.
The rice was well-cooked,
not mushy, and had a satisfying texture.
The cold noodles exceeded my expectations.
Both the cold water and spicy noodles had a great balance of broth and seasoning,
making for a clean finish.
The location is excellent, close to Jongno 3-ga Station, Ikseon-dong, and Seosunra-gil.
There are outdoor seating options,
which would be lovely on a nice day.
I noticed many foreign customers,
and the menu was available in Korean, English, Chinese, and Japanese,
which was impressive.
The corkage fee is reasonable,
and they receive many inquiries for private events,
thanks to the appealing interior.
The restrooms were clean, with clear gender separation and a white tone,
adding to the overall positive experience.
Overall,
the taste, atmosphere, and service were all top-notch,
making it a place I can confidently recommend for meat lovers in Jongno.
It's no wonder the repeat visit rate is high.
I look forward to returning for a family gathering or an important occasion.
