This month, I received a bonus and thought about treating my parents to a nice meal. They love meat, so I wanted to find a reputable Hanwoo restaurant, which led me to start an extensive search.

1. The Journey to Gwangtan Meat House

While comparing reviews, I came across a notable place known as a popular dining spot near Songchu CC. It had numerous positive reviews, which made it trustworthy, and I felt it would be a great place to visit with my parents.

Located near Majang Lake, it was perfect for a drive, and I appreciated the ample parking space, which is essential when traveling with family, especially my parents. The spacious parking made for a worry-free visit.

Upon arriving, the exterior of Gwangtan Meat House exuded a sense of long-standing tradition. My parents commented on the delicious aroma, which made me feel excited as well.

After parking in the spacious lot, I noticed photos of famous visitors like Heo Young-man and Hyun Joo-yeop at the entrance, heightening my anticipation. It was clear that the popularity of this place was well-deserved.

2. Interior and Facilities

Inside, the restaurant was clean and well-organized. The table spacing was generous, making it comfortable for family dining. The ventilation system was effective, minimizing smoke and odors typical of meat restaurants, creating a pleasant dining environment.

The walls were adorned with various signatures and photos of visitors, indicating that many people frequent this establishment. It seems that many golfers visit after a round at Majang Lake, contributing to its reputation as a go-to spot near Songchu CC.

My dad mentioned he would like to return with his friends for a round of golf, which made me happy. Although he usually doesn't express much, he seemed pleased with the meal I treated him to.

The menu featured high-quality Hanwoo, primarily 1++ grade, which gave us confidence in our choice. After much deliberation, we ordered the signature dish, the 안창살 (skirt steak), priced at 59,000 KRW.

4. Personal Review of the Meal

The side dishes were thoughtfully prepared, and when the main dish arrived, the marbling of the meat was stunning. The visual appeal was mouthwatering! The homemade ssamjang and doenjang added a comforting touch, and my parents enjoyed it.

Particularly, the inclusion of seaweed with the meal enhanced the flavor, and the variety of side dishes complemented the meat perfectly. Everything was fresh, which heightened my anticipation.

The fluffy steamed eggs were delightful, and the chilled dongchimi (radish water kimchi) was refreshing. The crunchy mu saengchae (radish salad) paired excellently with the meat.

The mushrooms were of the Chamsongi variety, which was a nice touch. As soon as the meat hit the grill, the sizzling sound and aroma brought immense joy.

The quality of the Hanwoo and the unique 삼합 combination made this dining experience truly special. I can confidently recommend this place for anyone looking to enjoy a great meal with their parents or friends.

We plan to return, especially since they have outdoor seating available from spring to autumn, which I look forward to enjoying with my parents again.
