A Heartwarming Culinary Journey at Cheongchun Dumplings Dongbaek Main Branch in Yongin

These days, with the chilly weather, there's nothing quite like a warm, comforting broth, right? Not long ago, a friend and I were craving some delicious dumplings in Yongin, so we searched for "Yongin 맛집 (Yongin Restaurants)" and discovered a place called 'Cheongchun Dumplings Dongbaek Main Branch.' It was my first time visiting the Dongbaek district, and I was pleasantly surprised by the charming and pretty shops. We arrived slightly after lunchtime, but the restaurant was already bustling with people. Just thinking about the warm broth and generous dumplings made my mouth water.
On a weekend afternoon, while planning a long-overdue outing to Yongin and wondering what to eat, my friend highly recommended 'Cheongchun Dumplings Dongbaek Main Branch,' a place they had visited before. According to my friend, the broth had a subtle yet deep flavor, and the dumplings were packed with filling. The weather was nice, and we wanted a change of scenery, so we headed to Yongin. Located on Dongbaekjukjeon-daero, the restaurant had a clean and modern exterior, making a great first impression. We opened the door with anticipation.
Aromatic Broth is the Best! Dumpling Hot Pot
The first dish we ordered was the signature menu item: Dumpling Hot Pot (Mandu Jeongol). The generous presentation, which looked tempting, was impressive. The pot contained both kimchi dumplings and meat dumplings nestled together, topped with plenty of mushrooms and vegetables. What was most surprising was the broth. It was truly appealing that we could enjoy two kinds of broth: a clear broth with a subtle, deep, and clean taste, and a spicy broth with a hot and refreshing flavor.
As the broth began to boil, the staff kindly cut the dumplings and vegetables into bite-sized pieces. Taking a bite of the dumpling with the warm broth, the thin dumpling skin and juicy meat filling with fresh vegetables harmonized beautifully, creating an abundant flavor in my mouth. The clear broth enhanced the original taste of the dumplings, while the spicy broth had a refreshing and cool flavor that made me think it would be perfect for a hangover cure. I was tempted to order a bowl of rice and soak it in the broth.
A Special Delicacy: Eobok Jaengban (Sliced Beef and Vegetable Platter)

Next, we tried the Eobok Jaengban. It was a dish I had never heard of, so I was curious about the taste. The presentation was unusual. Thinly sliced pressed meat and vegetables were attractively plated, with a small amount of warm broth in the center. The combination of cold pressed meat and warm broth was fresh and new. Dipping it in the mustard sauce provided, the chewy texture of the pressed meat and the tangy flavor of the mustard created a delightful harmony.
The Eobok Jaengban was excellent on its own, but it offered another level of appeal when briefly dipped in the broth provided. The broth subtly infused the pressed meat, making it even more tender and enhancing its savory taste. Eating it with thinly sliced vegetables added a crisp texture, providing an even richer flavor. Perfect as a side dish with drinks or as a substantial meal, I would definitely recommend the Eobok Jaengban to anyone looking for a great restaurant in Yongin.
Yukjeon (Pan-Fried Beef) Loved by All Ages

We were already quite full from the Dumpling Hot Pot and Eobok Jaengban, but we couldn't resist the Yukjeon! Thinly sliced beef coated in egg batter and pan-fried to a golden brown is a dish that everyone loves, regardless of age. The Yukjeon, served hot, was crispy on the outside and moist on the inside, melting in my mouth. Dipping it in the soy sauce provided added a savory flavor, making it even more enjoyable.
Yukjeon may seem simple at first glance, but I've heard that making proper Yukjeon is actually quite difficult. However, Cheongchun Dumplings Dongbaek Main Branch's Yukjeon had the perfect thinness of the meat, the right amount of seasoning, and a tender texture. The tenderness that seemed to melt in my mouth was impressive. Eating a warm piece of Yukjeon reminded me why people love it so much. It was great for filling your stomach and also perfect as a side dish with drinks.
A Salad Bar Full of Freshness!

Another special feature of Cheongchun Dumplings Dongbaek Main Branch is that they operate a salad bar. If you order the Dumpling Hot Pot or other menu items, you can use the salad bar for free, which is really substantial! There were fresh vegetables, a variety of salads, and side dishes to enjoy with your meal. I especially liked the fresh salad with the sweet and sour dressing, so I brought plenty to eat.
The salad bar even includes kalguksu (noodle soup) and porridge! After finishing the Dumpling Hot Pot, it's delicious to add kalguksu noodles to the leftover broth. Finally, you can stir-fry rice in the remaining broth to make porridge, providing a really satisfying finish to the meal. The fact that you can enjoy such a variety of menu items with unlimited refills is truly appealing. It's a great choice for those who want to eat generously.
Clean and Cozy Interior Space

The interior of the restaurant had an overall clean and comfortable atmosphere. The spacing between the tables was adequate, so you could enjoy your meal comfortably without worrying about bumping into other customers. The walls were adorned with emotional paintings, and the soft lighting created a cozy feeling. I thought it would be a great place for family dinners or gatherings with friends.
What was particularly great was the kindness of the staff. Whenever we asked about the menu, they explained in detail with a smile, and they proactively came over to help whenever we needed something, allowing us to enjoy our meal comfortably. Thanks to the clean restaurant atmosphere and friendly service, we were able to finish our meal on an even better note. I felt that there were enough reasons to recommend it as a great restaurant in Yongin.
The meal at 'Cheongchun Dumplings Dongbaek Main Branch' was truly satisfying. In particular, the Dumpling Hot Pot, with its two kinds of broth made directly at the restaurant, had a deep and clean flavor, and the dumpling filling packed inside the thin skin was truly impressive. The Eobok Jaengban and Yukjeon were also special delicacies that were more than enough to stimulate my appetite.
Above all, the fact that the salad bar, kalguksu, and porridge were all unlimited refills was truly amazing. It's the best choice for those who want to eat generously. If I visit Yongin again, I definitely want to visit this restaurant again. I highly recommend it for family dinners or gatherings with friends.
