A Delightful Visit to Achu House in Guri

Today, I visited Achu House in Guri with my mom. Even though she usually doesn't enjoy sweets, she found the churros here absolutely delicious, which made me very happy. Let me share the delightful experience we had.
The crispy churros, freshly fried, paired with cool ice cream created a heavenly combination that filled my mouth with joy. Thanks to the clean interior, it was a lovely place for a cozy conversation with my mom, making it a satisfying healing time overall.
Achu House is conveniently located on the entrance road to the Guri Traditional Market, making it easily accessible. It’s a comfortable spot to reach via public transportation. After getting off at Guri Market or Doldari, just walk towards the market entrance to find it.
If you're visiting by car, I recommend using the public parking lot near the traditional market for convenience. The café itself doesn't have ample parking, so utilizing the spacious parking area about a five-minute walk away is a good option. The parking fees are quite reasonable, making it perfect for shopping and exploring the market afterward.
Upon arriving, the clean and stylish exterior immediately caught my eye. The purple facade was striking enough to be noticed from a distance. Plus, the fact that coffee is only 1,700 won, made with Paul Bassett beans, surprised me given the current prices. It seemed many people were stopping by for a coffee to-go.
The interior was cozy and beautifully styled, with white walls and warm lighting creating a lovely atmosphere. Cute decorations near the entrance set a cheerful mood even before stepping inside. The colorful tables added a lively touch, so we quickly claimed a comfortable spot. A cute frame featuring churros and ice cream made me smile.
I was pleasantly surprised by how spacious the interior was, with plenty of tables for comfortable dining. Initially, I planned to take my order to-go, but the charming space encouraged my mom and me to sit down and relax together.
The menu was filled with delicious drink options, including not only coffee but also ade, ice cream lattes, fresh fruit juices, milk tea, and black sesame lattes.
We placed our order through a kiosk. Initially, I wanted a refreshing drink, selecting café latte and homemade milk tea, but upon seeing the churros, I quickly changed my mind. It was clear that this place specializes in churros, so I had to try them.
After placing our order, we took our time exploring the café. The menu displayed at the counter was tempting, and we decided to order the churro set.
The churros at Achu House are made fresh upon order, so we had to wait a bit, approximately ten minutes, to enjoy the warm, freshly made churros. I appreciated that they weren't pre-made. My mom looked a bit excited when she heard they were made fresh.
There were various flavors to choose from, including original, Oreo, and chocolate churros, with options for sugar or cinnamon.
We could even watch the churros being made, which added to the experience. The wait was enjoyable as we observed the process.
We ordered the signature Akachu set along with the churro set and added a café latte to share. The churros, freshly fried, were crispy on the outside and chewy on the inside, which was impressive. The even sprinkle of cinnamon created a delightful aroma that enveloped our taste buds.
My mom, feeling thirsty, started with the refreshing café latte. The warm weather felt like spring, and many people were heading to the market. We decided to recharge with delicious churros before exploring the market.
Taking a spoonful of Sangha Farm ice cream and enjoying it with the churros created an amazing combination. I offered some ice cream to my mom, who found the taste completely different and enjoyed it immensely. You must try the combination of Sangha Farm ice cream and churros; it makes a significant difference in flavor!
While the original churros were great, the Oreo flavor is especially popular among kids. The crunchy texture combined with the Oreo flavor made it equally delicious.
I was surprised to see how much my mom enjoyed the churros, even cutting them into bite-sized pieces and topping them with ice cream. I had never seen her enjoy churros before, and I realized I had no memories of us sharing churros together. If I had known how much she liked them, I would have brought her here sooner.
The cool and smooth Sangha Farm ice cream dipped in the churros offered a perfect balance of warmth and chill. My mom praised the ice cream for its rich, luxurious milk flavor without being overly sweet. A sip of bitter Americano completed our dessert time perfectly.
On a sunny day, time flew by as we enjoyed our tasty treats and chatted. I highly recommend trying churros dipped in ice cream; that moment when the ice cream slightly melts into the churros is the best part!
