A Delightful Tonkatsu Experience at Kitony in Jeonpo Cafe Street

One evening, while enjoying a date along Jeonpo Cafe Street, a place caught my eye.
It was ‘Kitony,’ a well-known tonkatsu restaurant in Jeonpo.
The signboard was so cute and neat that it immediately drew my attention.
The white-toned exterior with wood accents gave it a warm yet sophisticated feel.
The exterior, reflecting the evening lights, was so pretty that I thought, ‘This place has a great atmosphere’ even before entering.
Upon entering, the interior was more spacious than expected.
Most shops in Jeonpo-dong are quite small, but this place had a rather generous space.
With a variety of seating options, from bar tables to four-person tables suitable for families,
it seemed like a comfortable place to dine for couples, friends, or families.
The soft lighting created an overall warm and cozy atmosphere.
After taking a seat, we placed our order using the kiosk at the entrance.
The clean and intuitive screen made ordering easy,
and above all, the interior was very clean.
Each table was neatly set with wet wipes, homemade yuzu wasabi, truffle oil, and Maldon salt,
and these detailed touches made me feel that ‘this place pays a lot of attention to detail.’
We ordered the Curry Katsu, Tenderloin Katsu, and Pan-soba Noodles.
We decided to share the Pan-soba Noodles,
and the cold noodles paired really well with the tonkatsu, creating a great balance to the meal.
The Tenderloin Katsu, which came out first, was crispy on the outside but surprisingly tender on the inside.
Perhaps it was because the meat was aged for 10 days, but there was no gamey smell at all, and a savory flavor spread with each bite.
Dipping it lightly in truffle oil enhanced the flavor, making it distinctly different from the tonkatsu I usually eat.
Next was the Curry Katsu.
Thick pork loin topped with a generous amount of rich curry sauce,
and this curry was not just any curry, but a homemade sauce made directly by them.
The moment I took a spoonful, the rich aroma of spices and deep flavor filled my mouth.
The crispy texture of the tonkatsu harmonized with the curry, creating a rich texture,
and the juices of the meat were still alive, making every last bite delicious.
The Pan-soba Noodles we ordered together were also impressive.
The noodles were chewy yet soft, and the soy sauce-based sauce was not too salty, so I kept eating them.
Eating them alternately with the tonkatsu helped to cleanse the palate and finish the meal cleanly.
It was dinner, but it didn't feel heavy; rather, it felt refreshing.
After finishing the meal, I realized that the title of ‘Jeonpo Tonkatsu 맛집 (delicious restaurant)’ was well-deserved.
From each handmade sauce to the freshness of the ingredients and the aging process, I could really feel the care and effort.
Moreover, the staff were friendly, making the entire experience from ordering to dining pleasant.
With a beautiful atmosphere, delicious food, and perfect service,
it’s a place I definitely want to visit again on my next date in Jeonpo.
It's a great place for dates, and also good to come with parents or friends, so I highly recommend it.
If you want to enjoy delicious tonkatsu under warm lighting,
‘Kitony’ is a must-visit among the tonkatsu restaurants in Jeonpo!
