Recently, I enjoyed a lamb skewer feast with my friends at a famous lamb skewer restaurant in the Konkuk University area. This place has been in the Konkuk University lamb skewer alley for 20 years, and I'm leaving a review because the depth of flavor and the value for money are definitely worth it.

Hae Ran Lamb Skewers Konkuk University Main Branch was located within a 5-minute walk from Exit 6 of Konkuk University Station. The fancy store sign was eye-catching from afar, so there was no difficulty finding it.

This restaurant has been operating in the same spot for over 20 years. Perhaps that's why my trust in the taste has increased.

The interior was really pleasant with high ceilings and bright lighting. The marble table, with light reflecting off of it, exuded a sense of luxury.

On one side of the room, there was a large poster with popular set menus written on it. It seemed perfect for those who have difficulty choosing a menu.

We first decided on the lamb skewer set for two and sweet and sour pork (꿔바로우). The kiosk ordering system via tablet was really convenient.

We planned a plentiful feast by adding two more Chinese dishes here. I was worried that there would be food left over, but that was ultimately an unnecessary worry.

Before long, the table setting, including the charcoal, was quickly set up. I could feel the smooth turnover rate at a very rapid pace.

The side dishes were faithful to the basics with pickled mustard greens, stir-fried peanuts, and radish salad. The number of dishes was small, but they were all substantial.

The cumin powder, a great match for lamb skewers, was also excellent. The lamb was well seasoned, so I didn't have to dip it too much.

The lamb skewers showed a quality befitting the main dish, and the carefully selected lamb had no peculiar smell at all thanks to the seasoning.

It's nice that I don't have to grill it in a cumbersome way thanks to the automated rotation system. The sight of it spinning around made my mouth water.

Since the skewers in the middle of the brazier cook the fastest, I did my best to grill them while switching them around. The well-cooked skewers were kept warm in the upper space provided separately.

Before I knew it, I was enjoying a carefully grilled lamb skewer. It was truly a feast for the five senses, with my eyes and nose enjoying it and my taste buds looking forward to it.

Soon, I naturally moved it to the plate with cumin on it. It was a skewer that made me hum without realizing it.

This is what it looks like after removing the skewer and gently transferring it to a plate. The chewy texture, the bursting juices, and the cumin didn't taste too salty and brought out the savory flavor well.

In the case of the lamb ribs at this restaurant, it was a dish made by skewering and grilling the meat from the rib area. The visual with plenty of cumin was also my taste.

It felt like my eyes were spinning along with the spinning view. I was full of expectations about how the taste would differ from regular lamb skewers.

The combination of savory lamb ribs without a peculiar smell and spicy cumin was healing itself. I don't know how busy my hands were because I kept picking it up without a break.

The sweet and sour pork (꿔바로우) piled up like a mountain was a visual that evoked admiration. I was definitely more pleased to receive it in large, heavy chunks.

The tightly packed meat revealed when cutting was a touching point. There were also many lamb skewer restaurants where only the batter was thick and the meat was empty.

The expression 'crispy on the outside and chewy on the inside' was exactly right. The moistness of the pork was well preserved beyond the crispy batter.

I was curious about what the other side dishes were like, so I ordered two. Especially, the Three Treasures (地三鲜) was a representative home-style dish from Northeast China, and the visuals were impressive.

In particular, the fried eggplant was soft, juicy, and added a chewy texture. The sweet and salty sauce based on soy sauce and oyster sauce enhanced the taste of the vegetables.

The cucumber salad was perfect for refreshing the greasy chest. The moisture from the cucumber was properly removed, so the crunchy texture was alive.

I was able to continue a happy drinking session with various alcoholic beverages with such delicious food. Not only Tsingtao beer, which goes perfectly with lamb skewers, but also sorghum liquor went very well with it.

It was a great lamb skewer restaurant where I fully enjoyed the pleasure of gastronomy for the first time in a while. When I think of alcohol and lamb skewers, I think I'll run to Hae Ran Lamb Skewers Konkuk University Main Branch without question.
