A Delicious Korean BBQ Experience at Goban Restaurant Seopangyo

For someone who loves meat as much as I do, the eternal question is, "Which Korean BBQ place should I try today?" This time, my friend and I visited Goban Restaurant in Seopangyo, already well-known as a local favorite.
This place is especially famous for its "Value Combo Platter" (550g), offering excellent value for money. After trying it myself, I can confirm it's truly a worthwhile deal.
Priced at ₩9,273 per 100g, the platter includes aged fresh pork belly, aged pork shoulder, and pork rind, allowing you to enjoy a variety of pork delights all at once.
We also added the Goban Mentaiko Rice and finished off the evening perfectly with two bottles of non-alcoholic beer! Let me share a detailed review of my experience.
Location:
Address: 7, Pangyo Park-ro 5-gil, Bundang-gu, Seongnam-si, Gyeonggi-do, 1st Floor
Located near Namseoul Country Club, it's a great spot for a meal after a round of golf! I visited because I had a meeting in the Pangyo area, and it was easy to find thanks to its accessibility and clean exterior.
Being a popular restaurant near Namseoul CC, it was quite busy even on a weekday evening.
Operating Hours:
Monday - Friday: 11:00 AM - 11:00 PM (Break Time: 3:00 PM - 5:00 PM)
Saturday - Sunday: 12:00 PM - 11:00 PM (Break Time: 3:00 PM - 4:00 PM)
Last Order: 2:00 PM, 9:30 PM
Closed: Every Wednesday
It's essential to check the break time before visiting! I made a reservation for the evening and was seated right away without a long wait.
Exterior:
Located on the first floor of the building, it was easy to find, and the large sign was visible from afar. The clean and stylish exterior caught the attention of passersby. From the entrance, information about the complimentary steamed egg, menu, set menu options were displayed.
Interior:
The interior had a clean and modern atmosphere. The wood-toned interior combined with bright lighting created a warm and luxurious ambiance. The tables were spaced generously, allowing for a comfortable dining experience without feeling cramped. The ventilation system was excellent, minimizing the smoke and odor typical of Korean BBQ restaurants. They also had group seating, making it a great place for gatherings.
Menu:
The menu featured a variety of meat and meal options. The most eye-catching was, of course, the Value Combo Platter (550g)!
Composition: Aged Fresh Pork Belly + Aged Pork Shoulder + Pork Rind
Price: ₩9,273 per 100g
The quality of the meat is excellent, and the price is reasonable, making it perfect for those who value cost-effectiveness. I added the Goban Mentaiko Rice to eat with the meat, and it was a perfect match. The menu was displayed on a tablet, with images of each item, making it easy to order!
Side Dishes (Generous and Diverse):
It's always disappointing when a Korean BBQ place skimps on the side dishes, but this place impressed me with a truly abundant spread. A variety of options perfect for enjoying with the meat were neatly prepared, including scallion salad, various types of kimchi, and flavorful pickled myoungi leaves.
The myoungi leaves were especially good at cutting through the richness of the meat, and the well-fermented kimchi was a perfect complement to the grilled pork belly. Even the hygiene was excellent! At other Korean BBQ restaurants, adding more myoungi leaves usually costs an extra ₩2,000, but they are free here!
Meat (Value Combo Platter):
Finally, the star of the show! The Value Combo Platter arrived.
The aged fresh pork belly had beautiful marbling and color, and the aged pork shoulder looked thick and juicy. The inclusion of chewy pork rind made it even more appealing, allowing for a variety of textures to be enjoyed at once.
The moment the meat hit the grill, the sizzling sound and savory aroma filled the air, making my mouth water! They even grilled ferns alongside the pork belly!
The pork belly was grilled until golden brown and crispy. Topped with the fern, and dipped lightly in salt, it was savory and rich.
The pork shoulder was bursting with juices and tender, confirming the quality of the aged meat.
The pork rind was thick and addictively chewy. They even thoughtfully cut it up and placed it in a separate dish! It's delicious wrapped in lettuce or eaten with rice!
Eating it with the Goban Mentaiko Rice enhanced the flavor of the meat with the savory and salty mentaiko. It's a must-order item.
Oh, and the steamed egg was great too!
I plan to visit again with my parents, and I'll be paying out of my own pocket!
Overall Review:
Overall, Goban Restaurant in Seopangyo was a satisfying experience in terms of taste, composition, and atmosphere. The quality of the meat was excellent, making it savory and flavorful. The side dish selection was diverse and abundant, making the meal enjoyable from beginning to end. The Value Combo Platter, in particular, offered outstanding value for money, truly deserving of the title of "Seopangyo 맛집 (Delicious Restaurant)."
The Goban Mentaiko Rice complemented the richness of the meat, and the savory flavor of the mentaiko kept me reaching for more. Enjoying it with non-alcoholic beer made for a perfect evening meal.
