Last weekend, I spontaneously met up with some neighborhood friends and we stumbled upon a fantastic Korean BBQ restaurant in Pocheon called Hyangyu Galbi. Their 11cm Donggalbi (I-dong ribs) and marinated galbi were exceptional, and the beautiful 계곡 (valley) view made the experience even better. I wanted to share this gem with everyone!

Hours: Daily 11:00 - 21:00 (Last Order 20:00)
Hyangyu Galbi was our destination, a building nestled beside a 계곡 (valley) that we spotted while driving.
The sign prominently displayed the various media outlets where the restaurant had been featured.
The restaurant's highlight is its location right next to a refreshing 계곡 (valley). The combination of high-quality Korean beef and natural scenery created a delightful outing.
Parking is available in the dedicated parking lot in front of the restaurant. As mentioned, the restaurant is open from 11 AM to 9 PM, with the last order at 8 PM.
After looking around, we entered the restaurant and noticed a sign that mentioned the restaurant being the origin of I-dong galbi. Reading about their traditional methods heightened our anticipation.
We explored the upper floor and were surprised by the spacious hall. It was clear that this Pocheon I-dong galbi 맛집 (renowned restaurant) could accommodate many customers without long waits.
The new wing of Hyangyu Galbi had a modern and sophisticated feel. The large windows offered plenty of sunlight and a great view, making the space feel open and airy.
The spacious outdoor terrace provided a sense of freedom and a vacation-like atmosphere. The scenery, combined with the 계곡 (valley), was incredibly relaxing.
When the table was set after we ordered, we were amazed. The side dishes and meat were neatly prepared, instantly capturing our attention.
The sight of the charcoal burning intensely was enough to stimulate our appetites. The high-quality charcoal made us excited to start grilling.
The fresh ssam (wrap) vegetables were irresistible. The vibrant green leaves seemed ready to accompany the galbi.
The thinly sliced ssam-mu (pickled radish) was refreshing and paired well with the meat. It's a must-have side dish at this Pocheon I-dong galbi 맛집 (renowned restaurant).
The tangy and slightly spicy onion salad was also a great palate cleanser, effectively cutting through the richness of the meat.
The fresh galbi, presented raw, had even marbling. The bright red color conveyed its freshness, which everyone praised.
The sizzling sound as the galbi hit the grill was tantalizing. The savory aroma made us eagerly await its readiness.
Cutting the well-grilled I-dong galbi revealed juicy tenderness. The deep flavor unique to this Pocheon I-dong galbi 맛집 (renowned restaurant) made our mouths water.
One bite offered a rich meaty flavor and exceptional tenderness. The combination of savory and umami flavors was excellent.
Next, I wrapped the galbi with ssamjang (soybean paste) in a slice of ssam-mu (pickled radish). The combination of the crisp texture and the intense flavor of the meat was delightful.
We also ordered Doenjang-galbi-sal ramen as a side dish, which had a savory aroma. The rich broth paired perfectly with the galbi, reminiscent of a comforting home-cooked meal.
The chewy noodles were infused with the deep flavor of doenjang (soybean paste). It was another 별미 (special delicacy) of this Pocheon I-dong galbi 맛집 (renowned restaurant).
The avocado yukhoe (beef tartare), which immediately caught our attention, featured a unique combination of cheese, yukhoe, and avocado, so we had to try it.
The creamy avocado and the chewy yukhoe melted in our mouths. The unique and luxurious combination was impressive.
We couldn't resist ordering drinks to complement our delicious meal. The makgeolli (rice wine) shake and blue lemon highball elevated the atmosphere.
My blue lemon highball was refreshingly fizzy. The clean finish and sparkling carbonation cleansed my palate.
The makgeolli shake was charming with its unique alcohol scent and soft sweetness. Thanks to the dishes unique to Hyangyu Galbi, a Pocheon I-dong galbi 맛집 (renowned restaurant), we were so happy.
