A Delicious Food Journey Through Jeju Island
제주특별자치도 제주시 특별자치도, 정존15길 42
서미갈비

After a long time, I traveled to Jeju with friends who share the same love for food, and this trip reminded me why eating well is such a big part of traveling.
From juicy Jeju pork ribs grilled right at the table to comforting local dishes enjoyed throughout the island, every meal became a memorable moment.
These food spots weren’t just about taste, but about atmosphere, freshness, and the joy of sharing good food together.
Seomigalbi(서미갈비), A Jeju Pork Rib Experience to Remember
Seomigalbi is located at 42 Jeongjon 15-gil in Jeju City and operates from 11:30 AM to 10:00 PM, with a break time between 3:00 PM and 5:00 PM.
The moment we sat down, the table filled with fresh Jeju pork ribs and colorful side dishes instantly raised our expectations.
A Beautiful Space That Feels Like Jeju
The entrance, built with Jeju’s signature basalt stone walls and a wooden door, felt more like a cozy café than a meat restaurant.
Inside, the stone wall interior continued, and the excellent ventilation made the space comfortable despite the grills.
Homemade Seasoning and Confident Flavors
A phrase on the wall reading that they use homemade seasoning instead of commercial sauces immediately built trust.
Their long-researched aging method clearly showed in the depth and tenderness of the meat.
Side Dishes That Steal the Spotlight
Before the ribs even touched the grill, we couldn’t stop eating the side dishes.
The green onion salad, radish salad, and kimchi were clean, refreshing, and addictive.
Green Onion Kimchi and Comforting Stews
The green onion kimchi was perfectly fermented and balanced the richness of the meat beautifully.
Steamed egg custard melted smoothly in the mouth, while the soybean paste stew was packed with ingredients and deep flavor.
Fresh Jeju Pork Ribs on the Grill
The fresh ribs arrived beautifully arranged in a wooden box, their vivid color signaling freshness.
As soon as they hit the grill alongside mushrooms, the sizzling sound made the table come alive.
Juicy Texture and Simple Pairings
Once cooked, the ribs were cut into bite-sized pieces, revealing their bouncy, juicy texture.
Dipped lightly in salt or paired with wasabi, the flavor felt clean and deeply satisfying.
Marinated Ribs That Keep You Eating
After finishing the fresh ribs, we moved on to the marinated version.
The homemade marinade soaked deeply into the meat, and the sweet aroma rose as soon as it touched the grill.
Sweet and Savory Until the Last Bite
Even though we were already full, the sweet and salty balance made it impossible to stop.
Wrapped in fresh lettuce with garlic, chili, and green onion, each bite felt indulgent and complete.
Finishing with Noodles and Rice Dishes
Raw beef bibimbap arrived beautifully arranged with vibrant colors and was quickly shared and finished.
The cold noodles, served in icy broth, refreshed the palate and perfectly cut through the richness of the meat.
Other Jeju Food Spots Worth Noting
Oinejeong Gimbap in Seogwipo is known for its fried tofu gimbap, operating from 9:00 AM to 7:00 PM and priced affordably.
Eomajang Seafood Stew in Jeju City offers a clean and refreshing abalone seafood stew, making it a family-friendly choice.
Ilton Yi Ban is famous for its rich king abalone porridge, while Duruduru, recommended by locals, serves authentic grilled hairtail with a sweet and spicy marinade.
A Jeju Food Trip Filled with Laughter
Sharing delicious food while talking with friends made the entire trip feel lighter and happier.
Each restaurant felt thoughtfully prepared, and Seomigalbi in particular has already been added to my must-visit list for the next Jeju trip.
