A Delicious and Authentic Seolleongtang Experience at Imun Seolleongtang in Seoul

Hi everyone!
Today, I'm sharing my experience at Imun Seolleongtang, a famous seolleongtang (ox bone soup) restaurant in Seoul. I had been wanting to visit this place for a long time, and I finally made it there for breakfast during my recent trip to Seoul.
Imun Seolleongtang

They open at 8 AM, which was perfect for an early breakfast. The seolleongtang was so soft and mild, making it an ideal choice to start the day. This restaurant has been running for three generations! Seeing the Korean word "Seolleongtang" on their sign made me realize this is a truly old and established restaurant.
The restaurant sign itself already gave off a delicious vibe! You can even see the Blue Ribbon, and it's listed as a Michelin-recommended restaurant for 2025!
I arrived around 9 AM, and I was surprised by how crowded it was! The restaurant was packed with both tourists and locals. Fortunately, there are about 150 seats, so I didn't have to wait. Otherwise, I definitely would have! They also have tables for larger groups. I thought the inside might be small, but it's actually well-maintained.
The turnover rate is pretty fast!
I ordered the seolleongtang right away! The origin of ingredients is clearly marked. Unfortunately, the chili powder is from China. It seems difficult to find Korean chili powder these days.

Kimchi and kkakdugi (radish kimchi) are placed on each table, so you can serve yourself as much as you like.
My order came out in less than 5 minutes! The spoon was already in the bowl. I added a generous amount of chopped green onions (I love that I could add as much as I wanted!) and was ready to eat.
Imun Seolleongtang serves their soup with the rice already mixed in the broth (toreom style). (+ includes thin noodles)
Thanks to this method, the hot broth was well absorbed into every grain of rice. The clear and rich broth and incredibly tender meat were truly befitting of a restaurant with 120 years of history. It tasted like pure bone broth, probably because they don't use artificial flavor enhancers.

This clear broth would be perfect on a chilly day. A little pepper and salt perfectly seasoned it. The tangy kimchi also went well with the seolleongtang.
It wasn't an extraordinarily unique taste, but I appreciated that Imun Seolleongtang focused on the fundamentals. Since they don't add artificial flavors, my stomach felt very comfortable after the meal.
I think this is a restaurant that people of all ages can enjoy. Review end!
Bye bye everyone!
