A Culinary Journey Through Jeju: Discovering Hidden Gems


During my recent trip to Jeju Island with friends, we sought out a special lunch experience and visited a renowned seafood noodle restaurant that had been highly recommended.
From seafood noodles with octopus to the unique gulfweed noodles, we enjoyed a diverse range of flavors.
The restaurant's pleasant interior made it perfect for families, so I'm excited to introduce this fantastic spot near Sangeumburi Crater.
1. Jeju Delicious Noodle Gyorae Main Branch

Located near Jeju Airport, it was easy to visit upon arrival. Its proximity to tourist attractions made it ideal for sightseeing before or after our meal.
The large parking lot made parking easy. The ample space and high turnover rate were also a plus.
The restaurant's size and tranquil surroundings made a great first impression. We were excited to try the various noodle dishes and side menu items.
The interior was clean and comfortable. The spacious seating and availability of group tables made for a relaxing dining experience.
We ordered some of the most popular dishes, and soon a selection of side dishes was served. These were all perfect complements to the noodles, from the refreshing kimchi to the pickled radish.
We started with the gulfweed noodles. The broth was rich with a subtle sea scent.
The thin, long noodles were delightfully chewy. I enjoyed slurping them down.
The broth was clean and not at all heavy. The addition of seaweed flakes enhanced the savory flavor.
Naturally, I had to try it with kimchi. The chewy noodles and crunchy kimchi were a perfect combination.
Next, we moved on to the octopus seafood noodles. The spicy broth was the highlight, providing a refreshing kick.
The generous amount of abalone made it even more satisfying. The rich broth burst forth with each bite of the tender abalone.
The whole octopus was a delightful surprise. It was tender and had a subtle sweetness.
The octopus was tender and delicious on its own. Its chewiness paired perfectly with the spicy broth.
The noodles and octopus were an excellent match. The moist octopus and spicy broth created a harmonious blend. The clean finish set it apart.
The octopus was so large that we had to cut it into smaller pieces. It was wonderfully chewy and soaked up the flavorful broth.
The noodles were soft and easy to eat. The rich broth, infused with seafood flavor, was fantastic.
The noodles were cooked to perfection. They had just the right amount of chewiness.
The broth was so refreshing that it would appeal to older palates as well. It wasn't heavy but provided a clean, spicy kick.

We also tried the steamed octopus as a side dish. Its tender texture and subtle sweetness were perfect.
Dipping it in gochujang (chili paste) added a tangy flavor. The spiciness was just right.
The steamed octopus was incredibly tender. It was moist and memorable.
Finally, we sampled the king dumplings. The thin skin allowed the juicy meat filling to shine through.
The strong scallion flavor prevented it from being greasy. The savory meat flavor was a hit with the kids.
I was impressed by both the food and the service. This restaurant is highly recommended.
2. Cheonghaewon

Menu: Jajangmyeon (Black Bean Noodles) 6,000 KRW, Jjamppong (Spicy Seafood Noodles) 7,000 KRW
We visited Cheonghaewon, a long-standing local favorite in Jeju. The restaurant's entrance exuded a classic charm. Recommended by locals, the noodles were chewy, and the jjamppong was particularly spicy.
3. Yeondon
Address: 10 Saekdal-ro, Seogwipo-si, Jeju-do
Hours: 12:00 - 21:00
Menu: Pork Cutlet 11,000 KRW, Tenderloin Cutlet 12,000 KRW
We visited Yeondon, known for its crispy-on-the-outside, tender-on-the-inside pork cutlets. The combination of crispy breading and tender meat was exceptional. The sauce wasn't too sweet, and it was delicious even with just salt.
4. Sister Noodles
Address: 46 Hanggolnam-gil, Jeju-si, Jeju-do
Hours: 09:00 - 18:00 (Closed Wednesdays)
Menu: Pork Noodle Soup 10,000 KRW, Spicy Noodles 10,000 KRW
Despite the long wait, we visited Sister Noodles. The restaurant was spacious and clean, and the noodles were served relatively quickly. Wrapping the noodles in kimchi made for a delicious bite that justified the wait.
5. Four Corners Restaurant
Address: 20 Seomun-ro 29beon-gil, Seogwipo-si, Jeju-do
Hours: 07:00 - 21:40 (Last Order 20:40)
Menu: Braised Cutlassfish 65,000 KRW
During our Jeju trip, we searched for a place to eat braised cutlassfish and found this restaurant. The cutlassfish was large and thick, and the flavorful sauce made it easy to finish a bowl of rice. The side dishes were also delicious.
