Spending time in Jeju, I ventured to a restaurant near Saryeoni Forest Path that locals frequent. The unique menu piqued my curiosity, and I couldn't resist exploring it. Discovering the owner's remarkable background added another layer of intrigue to the experience, so I'm sharing the details.

Touching scene

1. Haneul Laegi Gyo Rae Guksu Chon

Address: 637 Bijarim-ro, Jocheon-eup, Jeju-si, Jeju-do

Hours: Daily 09:00~16:00 (Closed when ingredients run out)

Menu: Anchovy Noodle Soup ₩7,000, Sea Urchin Noodle Soup ₩11,000, Spicy Noodles ₩9,000, Pork Noodle Soup ₩9,000, Small Steamed Dumplings ₩8,000, Small Glutinous Rice Sausage ₩10,000

The table setting, filled with savory dishes, was a feast for the eyes. The neat presentation highlighted the charm of local cuisine encountered during my travels.

The restaurant's exterior blends seamlessly with Jeju's natural scenery. Ample parking space in front made parking easy.

Located along the road, it's easily noticeable thanks to the prominent sign. The restaurant clearly displays the origin of ingredients, building trust with customers. This transparency is reassuring.

The use of anchovy broth in the pork noodle soup is unique. The owner's special touch heightened my anticipation for the flavors.

The cozy interior with floor seating created a comfortable atmosphere. Cushions were provided, ensuring a pleasant experience.

I pondered over the homemade menu, deciding what to order. The simple menu names seemed to reflect the restaurant's confidence in their dishes.

Pickled radish, with its rich color, was served as a side dish. Enjoying it before the meal helps stimulate the appetite.

The restaurant's kimchi, seasoned with vibrant red spices, was perfectly ripe and complemented the noodles wonderfully.

I started with the refreshing anchovy noodle soup. The aroma of the broth filled my senses, whetting my appetite.

The noodles had a distinct anchovy flavor and a delightful texture, making for a truly enjoyable experience.

I couldn't resist trying the noodle soup topped with fresh sea urchin roe. The vibrant orange color and freshness were remarkable.

Mixing the noodles with the sea urchin roe, each bite released a rich oceanic flavor. The soft, chewy texture added to the appeal.

The pork noodle soup, generously topped with slices of pork, was incredibly satisfying. The meat was juicy and tender.

The tender slices of pork melted in my mouth, leaving a savory aftertaste. I wished the flavor could linger longer.

The spicy noodles, adorned with various toppings, offered a unique flavor. The tangy sauce stimulated my palate, preparing me for the next dish.

The steamed dumplings, served in a generous portion, were perfect for enjoying between bites. Their soft texture made them easy to eat, even for children.

The dumplings were filled with a generous amount of filling. Sprinkled with sesame seeds, they had a nutty flavor.

A plate of sundae (Korean sausage) was served with a generous portion. The firm texture promised a delightful experience.

Each bite of the sundae was chewy and flavorful. It was delicious on its own, without any additions.

After the meal, I learned that the owner is also an artist. Her artistic sensibilities seemed to be reflected in the food.

She has been featured in numerous media outlets. You can even purchase her artwork.

This restaurant offered a satisfying meal at a reasonable price. With both culinary and visual delights, it's a great place to visit during your travels.
