The joy of traveling lies in tasting local foods that reflect the unique characteristics of the region.

Recently, I had a comfortable meal at a black pig specialty restaurant I had always wanted to visit, called "Geuttaegeujip".

The quality was top-notch and fresh, and after my visit, I felt compelled to recommend this Jeju restaurant to everyone.

1. Geuttaegeujip

Address: 352-1 Seohaean-ro, Jeju-si, Jeju

Business Hours: 11:00 - 22:00

Menu: Black Pig Set for 2 - 60,000 KRW

Geuttaegeujip is just a 5-minute drive along the coastal road near the airport.

The large sign on the standalone building made it easy to spot.

Additionally, the restaurant has its own parking lot, making it even more convenient.

The spacious area can accommodate many guests, resembling a sports field.

As the first customers of the day, we were able to choose our preferred seating.

The tables were well-spaced, and the ventilation system was effective, minimizing the typical odors associated with barbecue restaurants.

There is also a self-service bar for refilling side dishes, ensuring everything is fresh and well-managed.

The pork belly served was visually impressive and incredibly fresh, thick enough to make anyone's mouth water.

The side dishes were abundant and perfectly seasoned, complementing the meat well.

Among the recommended side dishes, the standout was the white kimchi, which added a refreshing crunch, perfect with the rich meats.

The spicy pickled peppers were juicy and enhanced the appetite with every bite.

The refreshing myungna-mul (a type of seasoned greens) was easy to wrap in the meat, providing a soft and savory taste that made me go for seconds.

The marinated crab had a sweet and spicy sauce that was rich in flavor, making it hard to resist.

The black pig was grilled by the staff right at our table, and the sizzling sound heightened our anticipation.

The pork was grilled to perfection, crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside, with a delightful smoky aroma from the charcoal.

The garnish included sausages, mushrooms, and fernbrake, which balanced the rich flavors.

The pork belly was surprisingly chewy and not greasy, leading to many compliments around the table.

The wasabi sauce paired well with the black pig, adding a pleasant kick.

The combination of the pickles and seasoned vegetables was also delightful.

The fernbrake, glistening with oil, was incredibly appetizing and further whetted our appetites.

The main dish, the black pig belly, had a perfect ratio of fat to meat, ensuring a fantastic texture.

We thoroughly enjoyed the fresh ingredients and variety of dishes.

The kimchi stew included in the set menu was hearty and fulfilling, with a rich broth and plenty of ingredients.

The aged kimchi was refreshing and spicy, making it perfect with rice.

In between courses, we enjoyed a warm steamed egg dish that was soft and perfectly seasoned.

The fried rice was thoughtfully prepared with various toppings, showcasing attention to detail.

The meal was satisfying without being overly stimulating, and everyone enjoyed it.

The cold noodles were sweet and tangy, providing a refreshing finish to the meal.

Overall, Geuttaegeujip offers a wonderful combination of flavors, service, and atmosphere, making it a must-visit in Jeju.
