A Culinary Journey in Jeju: Discovering Hidden Gems Near Pyoseon Beach

I discovered a special black pork restaurant near Pyoseon Beach. It's a Jeju Folk Village 맛집 (delicious restaurant) that you can trust because they raise their own pigs.
What's great is that the staff grills and cuts the meat from start to finish, so you can just sit back and enjoy. It's a charming place where you can even try special cuts.
1. Jeju Black Pork World Suragan Pyoseon Branch
Address: 1st floor, 23, Pyoseondangpo-ro, Pyoseon-myeon, Seogwipo-si, Jeju-do
Hours: Daily 15:00 ~ 22:00 (Last Order 21:00)
Menu: Suragan Grilled Pork (for 3) 700g ₩77,000, Spicy Noodles ₩4,000, Banquet Noodles ₩4,000, Rice ₩1,000
The perfectly grilled pork was amazing. Adding a little bit of jeotgal (fermented seafood) on top made the flavor explode.
The restaurant's exterior feels quite old. I felt a comfortable and quiet atmosphere in front of the harbor.
Inside, the walls were covered with photos of famous visitors. I saw autographs from celebrities and athletes.
The interior of this Jeju Folk Village 맛집 has a traditional feel with round tables. The ventilation system was also noticeable.
Looking at the menu, the Suragan set caught my eye. I was also looking forward to side dishes like spicy noodles and banquet noodles.
The side dishes came out first and they were really generous. I started by tasting the salad and kimchi.
They also gave us a lot of fresh ssam (wrap) vegetables, which are expensive these days. I kept reaching for them because of the fresh taste when eaten with the meat.
I also really liked the seasoning of the green onion salad. The freshness of the green onions was alive and the pungent taste was removed.
Looking at the whole table setting, the generosity and splendor were amazing. The thick meat looked really appetizing.
The raw pork consisted of pork neck and pork belly. It looked appetizing even before cooking because it was thick and glossy.
The staff started grilling the meat. The sizzling sound of the meat on the grill stimulated my appetite.
My mouth watered as I watched the meat cook. The surface started to shine as the oil came out.
The smoke was quickly cleared away. The ventilation system worked so well that the stuffiness was quickly gone.
Looking at the properly grilled meat, I felt like my appetite would explode. The juice burst out as soon as I took a bite.
The black pork at this Jeju Folk Village 맛집 had a significant impact. The texture of the skin was great.
A little bit of wasabi added a point to the taste. I felt like the pungent flavor was cutting through the grease.
Dipping the meat in meljeot (anchovy sauce) doubled the flavor. The combination of garlic and green chili was perfect.
When I ordered rice, I got a beef bone kimchi stew as a service. I was surprised to get such a perfect side dish for free.
Looking inside the kimchi stew, there was a lot of pork and kimchi. Maybe it was because it was boiled with beef bone, but it had a deeper taste and made me want to eat more rice.
The spicy noodles were cool with iced broth. The noodles, sauce, and sesame seeds on top looked amazing. The spicy and sweet sauce stimulated my appetite after eating meat. The chewy noodles added to the refreshing feeling.
Banquet noodles are boiled with mushrooms and anchovies. This is also one of the must-try dishes here.
The coolness of the soup is addictive. Eating it with a piece of kimchi makes it a perfect palate cleanser.
The fact that they raise their own pigs and make their own side dishes is also attractive. Because of that, I felt that there were no gaps in the food. It was a very generous and comforting meal, and this Jeju Folk Village 맛집 made me feel comfortable until the end.
