A Culinary Journey at Jeonju's Nokdu Flower Restaurant

After leaving Maisan, we arrived in Jeonju and visited my mom's favorite restaurant, Nokdu Flower. One of the joys of traveling is indulging in good food, and since it's my mom's top choice, I was eagerly anticipating the warm atmosphere right from the entrance.
As soon as we ordered the traditional Korean set meal, a beautifully arranged array of dishes started to arrive, enough to bend the table. The colorful side dishes made me feel healthy just by looking at them, and both my mom and I couldn't help but smile with happiness. Let me share the delightful experience we had at Jeonju's beloved restaurant, Nokdu Flower.
Nokdu Flower is conveniently located near Jeonju's Hanok Village, making it a perfect stop on our travel itinerary. Walking through the serene streets, we found it to be an ideal spot to visit with my parents.
The restaurant has a dedicated parking area right in front, so there's no need to worry about parking when visiting by car. Just knowing we could park comfortably in busy Jeonju made the travel fatigue melt away. After our meal, we simply had to inform the counter of our car number for free parking.
The ambiance of Nokdu Flower is impressive, reflecting Jeonju's unique traditional beauty while being well-maintained. Walking through the entrance greeted by green plants and warm sunlight created a perfect atmosphere for our spring trip.
Inside, the restaurant is decorated in cozy wooden tones, making it an excellent place for intimate conversations over a meal. The spacious table arrangements allowed us to enjoy our meal leisurely, feeling well taken care of throughout.
There are also large group tables, accommodating big families or tour groups. We arrived right at opening time at 11 AM after starting our journey early in the morning without breakfast. Even during the opening rush, many tables were already reserved, which surprised us. It's clear why my mom considers this place a top-notch traditional restaurant.
Moreover, Nokdu Flower has received the Excellence Award in the Korean Consumer Industry Assessment for two consecutive years in the traditional dining category, adding to our confidence in choosing this restaurant.
My mom and I ordered the Nokdu Flower set meal, priced at 70,000 won for two and 120,000 won for four. This means that if four people visit, they can enjoy Jeonju's traditional meal for just 30,000 won per person. The spread was indeed impressive!
The mung bean pancakes and the radish salad with black bean sauce were exceptional. True to its reputation as a bean specialty restaurant, all dishes were filled with the natural flavors of healthy ingredients. My mom particularly enjoyed the radish salad, scraping every bit of sauce off the plate.
As an appetizer, the porridge made from beans and yogurt was a delightful surprise, its tangy flavor stimulating our appetites. The mixed noodles also paired well with the sweet and sour taste, and I was thrilled to discover that the noodles were made from tofu!
The quality of the side dishes served as a base was remarkable. All were homemade with fresh ingredients, making each bite distinctly different. Seeing my mom smile brightly as she savored each dish reminded me of why we planned this trip to Jeonju, primarily to visit Nokdu Flower, which she adores.
Now, the main dishes that truly represent Nokdu Flower are coming out. Being a bean specialty restaurant, the dishes made from beans were spot on. They only use pure domestic beans and eco-friendly agricultural products, making it a great choice for dining with parents.
We couldn't miss the grilled short ribs, served according to the number of diners, allowing each of us to enjoy our own. The gentle heat kept them warm until the end.
The braised short ribs were equally impressive! The tender and lean meat was particularly delightful, with every flavor perfectly balanced.
Our happy time at Nokdu Flower began with the delightful array of dishes. The presentation alone brought smiles, making it an ideal place for treating guests or dining with family.
Seeing my mom enjoy the food she had been longing for made me feel we made the right choice in coming here. I can't help but feel that Nokdu Flower will lead us to visit Jeonju more often together.
We concluded our meal with a clean and refreshing dessert. Every moment spent here was perfect, and the care put into each dish left us feeling nourished in body and spirit. It's easy to understand why my mom loves this restaurant so much.
Nokdu Flower, my mom's top pick for traditional Korean dining, is a place filled with healthy and delicious dishes that bring happiness.
