A Culinary Experience at Yeouido's Famous Restaurant

Recently, I had a meal with a high school friend who returned to Korea after a year. Considering our locations, we decided to meet in Yeouido and visit a well-known restaurant.
The restaurant offered a neat and delicious rice bowl set, and the calm atmosphere was perfect for our conversation.
1. Parking and Restaurant Information
Parking is available in the building's parking lot. It's free for 45 minutes before 7 PM, and after that, you can park for free regardless of time, so those driving should keep this in mind.
We chose this restaurant without much doubt due to its Blue Ribbon designation, and the food did not disappoint.
Feeling a bit low on energy lately, I opted for the eel rice bowl set, which turned out to be a great choice.
I arrived slightly before the main dining hours, so I didn’t have to wait. However, during lunch or dinner peak times, it appears there can be a wait due to the restaurant's popularity, especially with many office workers nearby.
2. Interior Atmosphere and Table Information
The interior is clean and has a cozy atmosphere. The tables are mainly for two, four, or six people, and even though it was just the two of us, we were seated at a four-person table for comfort.
The menu is quite simple, focusing mainly on one type of dish. Despite the limited menu, it has been recognized in the Blue Ribbon Survey for ten consecutive years, which is impressive.
We ordered two eel rice bowl sets, which included eel, steamed egg, and shrimp tempura, along with matcha ice cream for dessert.
3. Neatly Presented Dish
The eel rice bowl was beautifully presented, and the portion size was generous, providing good value for the price. I couldn't resist taking photos!
The first bite was the soft, fluffy steamed egg, which was not dry or crumbly. It was a delicate Japanese-style dish with cordyceps inside, and it had a mild flavor that even first-timers would enjoy.
4. Eel Rice Bowl's Portion and Visual Appeal
The main dish, the eel rice bowl, was generously topped with a whole eel. Even for men, the portion is satisfying, so there’s no need to worry.
It comes with a sprinkle of sansho powder, which adds a unique flavor. My companion, sensitive to fishy smells, found the eel's aroma to be mild and well-balanced with the sansho, making it delicious.
5. Baekhwa Su Bok Jun Sake
As part of a review event, we also received Baekhwa Su Bok Jun sake. It paired nicely with our meal, enhancing the experience.
6. Kadaif Shrimp Tempura
As we finished our meal, we enjoyed the warm soup. We were also excited to try the kadaif shrimp tempura, which was crispy and fragrant, providing a delightful texture.
7. Matcha Ice Cream Dessert
To conclude our meal, we had matcha ice cream, which was not overly sweet and helped cleanse the palate.
Overall, the quiet atmosphere was perfect for catching up with my friend, and we left satisfied, planning to return soon.
