A Culinary Adventure at Ribuk House: Discovering Cold Jokbal in Nonhyeon-dong

Last weekend, I ventured to Ribuk House, a well-known restaurant nestled in Nonhyeon-dong, Gangnam.
After exploring the Yeongdong Market near Nonhyeon Station, I was eager to discover the reputation of this place, as it was located nearby.
As a dedicated Jokbal (pigs' trotters) enthusiast, the 'Cold Jokbal' menu item immediately piqued my interest.
Upon arriving at Ribuk House, I was greeted by a clean yet traditionally styled interior.
The menu featured Jokbal, Bossam (boiled pork slices), and a variety of Korean pancakes (Buchimgae), all catching my eye.
Ultimately, I decided to order the Cold Jokbal.
The anticipation grew as I learned that they only use the front trotters of domestically raised pigs and simmer them directly in traditional cauldrons with various medicinal herbs.
After a short wait, the Cold Jokbal arrived at my table, and it was truly a work of art.
Thinly sliced Jokbal was artfully arranged with cucumbers and jellyfish, while the refreshing aroma of mustard sauce tantalized my senses.
Taking a bite, I was immediately impressed by the wonderfully chewy texture that filled my mouth.
The savory flavor of the Jokbal combined with the mustard sauce was incredibly memorable.
Beyond the Jokbal, they also offered a selection of delicious Buchimgae.
The Seafood Pancake (Haemul Pajeon) was particularly exceptional, boasting a crispy exterior and a wonderfully moist interior.
I heard that Assorted Pancakes (Modum Jeon) and Spicy Cold Noodles (Jaengban Guksu) are also popular dishes, which I plan to try on my next visit.
Ribuk House goes beyond simply serving delicious food; they put their heart and soul into it.
I could feel their dedication to providing customers with a unique and flavorful experience by simmering the Jokbal in traditional cauldrons.
If you ever find yourself in Gangnam, I highly recommend visiting Ribuk House and experiencing their exceptional flavors for yourself.
The combination of refreshing Cold Jokbal and the heartfelt, carefully prepared Jokbal is sure to be a satisfying choice.
