Joo Ji-hoon was awarded the Prime Minister's Commendation at the '2025 Korea Popular Culture and Arts Awards'.
The '16th Korea Popular Culture and Arts Awards,' held on the 23rd at the National Theater of Korea's Haeoreum Theater by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism in conjunction with the Korea Creative Content Agency, is the most prestigious government award in Korea. It was established to enhance the social standing of popular culture and art figures and to honor their efforts and achievements.
Joo Ji-hoon's selection as a recipient of the Prime Minister's Commendation reaffirmed his undeniable status and influence in the popular culture and arts scene.
Taking the stage, Joo Ji-hoon stated, "I am very honored to be here with my fellow seniors and juniors who are working together in popular culture and the arts. I will work harder in the future. Thank you." Joo Ji-hoon, who began his full-fledged acting career in 2006 with the MBC drama 'Princess Hours', has become a leading actor who combines acting skills, popularity, and box office success, crossing between film and drama series such as the movie 'Kidnapped', 'Project Silence', 'Dark Figure of Crime', 'The Spy Gone North', 'Gentleman' and Disney+'s 'Shop for Killers', tvN's 'Jirisan', 'Hyena'. In particular, his performances in the 'Along with the Gods' series, which mobilized 27 million viewers in Chapters 1 and 2, and 'Kingdom' have been praised for greatly contributing to the globalization of K-content. Notably, Joo Ji-hoon recently garnered attention with the trauma code in 'Shop for Killers'.
