Ra-el, Hong Jin-kyung's daughter who is studying abroad, made a rare appearance on the YouTube channel 'Hong Jin-kyung, a Real Genius at Studying'.

Hong Jin-kyung joked about her daughter's appearance, saying, "It's okay as long as her face isn't shown. She's gained a lot of weight and isn't confident about her looks," which made the studio burst into laughter.

16-year-old Ra-el, who lives in an overseas boarding school, shared her recent updates, saying, "I've made a lot of friends and I'm studying pretty hard."

It was heartwarming to see her mother welcoming her daughter's growth after a long time.

Math Genius? Confidence to Refuse the Advanced Class

In the video, the production team mentioned Ra-el's excellent math skills and top grades. Ra-el revealed that she was recognized for her skills to the point where she could enter a special math class, but she declined.

Regarding the reason, she honestly said, "If I go into the special class, the pace will be too fast and it will be too difficult to learn, so I'm afraid I won't be able to be number one anymore."

When she proved her skills by solving the production team's problems in her head, Hong Jin-kyung added to the laughter by saying, "She's in the third year of middle school, of course she can do that."

Singing Happy Birthday in Four Languages

Ra-el showed off her four-language skills by interacting with friends of various nationalities.

At the request of the production team, she sang Happy Birthday in Japanese, Chinese, and English, surprising everyone.

In particular, she jokingly dissed her mother in Chinese, saying, "I love my mom, but she interferes a lot, so it's annoying," causing everyone to burst into laughter.

Her sense of humor, as well as her language skills, stood out.

Dorm Life Shaken by the 'Shopping Incident'

However, her life abroad wasn't always smooth sailing.

The fact that she reported that she was going to the hospital and then went shopping became a problem, and a disciplinary atmosphere was created at the school.

Hong Jin-kyung recalled, "The school was turned upside down at that time. She went in after 9 o'clock," but

Ra-el expressed her frustration, saying, "When I asked, they said I was marked absent, so I didn't have to go to the last class. I had time left, so I went shopping."

In the end, Hong Jin-kyung replied to the school, "I think she wouldn't have come in because she was already marked absent. I don't think I would have gone in either," and the incident ended with the confiscated device being returned.

An Honest Worry of a Growing Teenage Girl

When asked about dating, Ra-el hesitated for a moment but honestly said, "I don't have one. We broke up six months ago. He was the same age."

She also shared her plan to reveal her face after losing more weight.

"Losing weight is the first thing to do before showing you my appearance. Please wait a few months," she showed her strong ambition,

and the production team exclaimed, "It's amazing."

It was impressive to see her controlling herself in her studies abroad, grades, and relationships.
