Must-Visit Spot in Wanju: Samnye Market Youth Mall

Located in Samnye, Wanju-gun, Jeollabuk-do, the Samnye Market Youth Mall is a space operated by young merchants with a fresh perspective within a traditional market.
It offers visitors a unique experience, blending the warmth of an old market with youthful sensibilities.
On the second floor of the traditional market, the Youth Mall features trendy food options, emotional crafts, experiential stores, and even a flower shop selling beautiful blooms.
Upon entering, you'll find a spacious area where children can play, making it a great place for families to relax.
1. Susuhwa: An emotional flower shop that expresses special moments in everyday life through flowers.
This shop focuses on natural beauty rather than extravagance, carefully crafting bouquets and flower baskets primarily with roses and gerberas.
I never expected to find such a trendy flower shop in the Samnye Market. The sophisticated designs of the bouquets and flower baskets, reminiscent of those seen on Instagram, were impressive.
They also offer free delivery throughout Wanju, making it convenient for when you need flowers.
Re.you Project: Craft classes where you can create and experience.
The Re.you Project is not just a sales space but an experiential hub that runs craft workshops and classes.
Activities like slime-making classes for kids are available, along with exhibitions and sales of emotional crafts and handmade products.
Isunae Kim Bugak: Crispy, hand-made seaweed snacks.
Kim Bugak is a traditional Korean fried snack made by coating seaweed with glutinous rice paste, drying it, and frying it in oil, known for its crispy texture and rich flavor.
If you want to enjoy crispy Kim Bugak while soaking in the atmosphere of a traditional market combined with youthful energy, this is a must-visit place.
Online purchases are also available.
During my visit, the owner was briefly away, so the shop was closed.
Goggan: A delicious day in the market.
Strawberry mochi is a particularly popular menu item here, and the owner conducts strawberry mochi-making classes.
The combination of sweet strawberry mochi and a cup of Americano is delightful.
They also sell Dubai chewy cookies and elegantly packaged doraji jeong, making them great gifts for parents.
It's a place that offers both taste and gift quality.
Oye Bap Meokja: Oye! Let's eat!
This space radiates the bright energy of a young owner.
As the name suggests, it's a perfect spot to pop in and say, "Oye! Let's eat!"
It has been featured on broadcasts and often receives lunch box orders.
Unfortunately, it was closed on the day of my visit, but given its media exposure, it seems to be a promising eatery.
It's a clean space to enjoy a meal within the market.
Needle Life: A space to create and take home memories.
True to its name, this space captures everyday moments created with a needle.
Known as an experiential store, it produces various handmade products, including aprons.
From hand-sewing and crafting to one-day classes and experiential programs, a variety of activities are offered.
Inside the store, you'll find many beautiful products made with care that naturally catch your eye.
Sabujak Sabujak: Gifts for kids.
This is a goody bag-making store.
They create themed goody bags for various events such as Children's Day, graduations, school openings, Halloween, and Christmas.
It's a great space to prepare simple gifts for children at daycare or school.
The store is filled with charming gifts for kids.
Saekdong: The beauty of Korean folk painting.
Inspired by traditional Korean colors, this space blends youthful energy with tradition.
Unfortunately, I couldn't explore the interior in detail as it was not operational on the day of my visit.
Suban Mihak: Simple yet profound flavors.
I wrapped up my visit with a meal here.
It's a newly opened restaurant.
The beef soybean paste stew was particularly impressive.
I enjoyed a neatly arranged meal in a pleasant atmosphere.
They strive to change the side dishes daily.
The lunch special dumpling soup is 6,500 won, and they also offer non-spicy bulgogi, making it a good dining option for families.
After ordering your meal and exploring the workshops with your kids in the Youth Mall, your meal will be ready before you know it.
After finishing your meal, enjoying coffee and dessert at Goggan, and buying a small gift and a beautiful bouquet for the kids on your way out makes for a lovely outing.
The Samnye Market Youth Mall is a space where kids can play freely, and parents can relax.
How about visiting the Samnye Market Youth Mall this weekend?
